So, I am no longer flying a species that suits the name of this journal, haha. But that is okay! tinylongwing is still where I will post falconry stuff. Who knows, I may fly another one someday. But at the end of October I trapped a passage female Cooper's hawk, who I named Pele

Absolutely! Though, as I've discovered, it seems most people think of the Brazilian soccer player first. Apparently not many people have heard of Pele the goddess. Which is so very odd to me as I knew about Pele the goddess from a young age, and spend zero time thinking about soccer players, but... whatever, crazy people.

She is definitely crazyface. I think that cannot be denied.

Haha I am not surprised people think of Pelé the soccer player. It's the same if you Google "Pele". He's... actually pretty famous. It does always feel strange to me, however, when I realize how few people know about our volcano goddess. She has such a massive presence on this island... I have trouble conceiving a reality where she isn't, like, a day-to-day part of any given person's thoughts.

CRAAAAAAAZYFACE! Also she looks silly with her hat hair. XD ...Is that little white spot on the top of her head typical of Coops? It's kind of cute. ^_^

That white spot has something to do with her hat hair, I think, haha. The bases of all those feathers on her head are white, so they just happened to part in a weird way that day so that she had that white spot on her head.
