Author’s Note: Blame this fic on jetgirl78 and her idea that pregnant!Natalia would be quite pleasantly hormonal. Yes, this fic is a little ridiculous and silly.

So, okay, Natalia hadn’t expected the pregnancy. She’d been focusing on other things - on quitting her job, on loving her son unconditionally, even when it hurt to think his name, on figuring out when and how to tell Emma, on Olivia - and she hadn’t noticed the warning signs.

She hadn’t noticed the things from before, because before she’d been sixteen and completely freaked out, and everything had all seemed to happen so fast, all the symptoms, so when she was here, now, in her mid-thirties and sexually inactive since February, it hadn’t even crossed her mind.

But then Blake had pointed it out, and she’d started to recall things. How she’d been tired for a while, how her body had felt not completely hers, how waves of nausea seemed to pass over her at random points. So she’d taken a test, and gone to the doctor, and eventually? Eventually she’d talked to Olivia.

She’d talked to her, even though the absolute last thing she’d wanted to do was keep Frank Cooper all tangled up in their lives because of her, and Olivia? Had taken it in stride. Sure, she’d been angry, and sad, and fairly confused, but the thing is, they’d made promises to each other, and Olivia had waited far too long to back out now.

Now. Now, when Natalia’s stomach was getting bigger, and her dinner requests were becoming stranger, a new symptom had started to creep in. One sixteen year old Natalia had written off, because she’d been sixteen, for crying out loud, and that was just how the human body was at sixteen, right?

And it was becoming increasingly harder to ignore. Harder to ignore the way her entire body came alive, trembling, any time Olivia so much as looked in her general direction. Harder to ignore the way the simplest touch - a graze of fingers, a gentle hug - had her nerves singing, reaching out.

So when it happened, when Tuesday night happened, Natalia decided there and then to blame it completely on the baby growing slowly inside her.

“The baby’s fault?” Olivia asked incredulously, one arm draped across Natalia’s bare stomach.

Natalia nodded.

“This baby?” she asked again, patting Natalia’s stomach for emphasis.

The other woman just nodded a second time.

“You do realize how absolutely ridiculous that sounds, right?”

“I. Maybe?” Natalia’s voice sounded small, almost shy.

“Excuse the language, but. You jumped me, in the living room, at five pm on a Tuesday, because the tiny infant growing inside you made you do it?”

Natalia felt the pink flush spread across her whole body, and tried to reach for the sheet around her waist, suddenly shy.

“Don’t.” Olivia’s voice was low, almost a whisper, as she placed her hand atop Natalia’s, stilling the movement, holding the sheet in place.

“It was...” She took a deep breath, and tried again. “I never thought I’d say this, but I might have to actually thank Frank Cooper for something.”

At this, Natalia buried her face in the pillow. The older woman reached over gently, and turned Natalia’s chin so they were face to face.

“You don’t ..” A sudden bout of fear struck her. “You don’t regret this, do you?”

Natalia shook her head again, as she let out a barely audible “No.” And it was terrible timing. Or maybe perfect timing. Because here were Olivia’s insecurities, right there in front of Natalia, like they’d always been, but Olivia’s breasts were also in front of her, and suddenly, again, it was like the last hour hadn’t happened, and she was still standing in the living room, and Olivia was still staring at her with those eyes, and her whole body was on fire.

And Natalia really wanted to be reassuring, right then. She wanted to address this, this thing that had just happened. She wanted to talk about it, she wanted to tell Olivia that even though she might be blaming the baby, she was okay with where they were, and she didn’t feel pushed, and she loved her.

But Olivia’s hand had drifted to her hip, and she suddenly, desperately, needed to be on top of Olivia. It wasn’t fair, and she knew for a fact that there was no way Olivia would buy the baby excuse twice, but she needed Olivia’s hands, and her fingers, and her soft skin and her curves and her tongue and. She just needed.

And for once, for once in her life, Natalia Rivera wasn’t going to ask, she was just going to take.
