Drabbles for Karen

Nov 15, 2005 23:12

Mkaaaay so. Here are the first of the requested drabbles. Both are game drabbles from the same game.

Who: Jake and Charlie, InSyndication
What: major fluffy post-dinner cuteness
Where: Charlie's home

Keeping Watch

Allie was tucked in, snug in bed and settled in for the night, after an incredibly amusing rendition of her favorite bedtime story that caused Charlie to fall on the floor in a fit of giggles as Jake attempted to do voices. The two of them now sat on the floor in the nightlight lit room, Charlie’s head resting on Jake’s shoulder as they watched Allie sleep. She hadn’t wanted either of them to leave, had wanted them to stay so that the scary devious monsters - neither of them knew where Allie had learned the word ‘devious’, and were content to let her misuse it for the time being - wouldn’t come get her, because monsters can’t come get you if your Mommy and silly Uncle Jake are guarding your door. Jake looked at the small pillow he hadn’t bothered to let go of yet; the weapon of choice Allie had decided on for him as a useful tool in the everlasting fight against the devious monsters. It was pale pink, with a small, embroidered C in the lower right corner, with a date right beneath - Charlie’s birth date, he assumed. He traced the letter with his thumb, turning his head slightly to say something to Charlie. But whatever he was about to whisper in her ear died on his lips, a small smile spreading instead as he realized she had fallen asleep on his shoulder. He leaned over and kissed the top of her head softly, breathing in the appley scent of her shampoo and Charlieness. He grinned at the room and leaned his head back on the wall. It might not be anything too serious yet, and they needed to go slow, for both their sakes, but every way he looked at it, the same word bounced around in his mind like a boomerang, not able to stay away.

Family.

Who: Sienna and Amethyst Case, InSyndication
What: throwback silly sister bonding
Where: outside somewhere, summer, 12 years ago

Lazy Days

Amethyst Case rolled her eyes at her sister. “Seeeeeeen, for the bajillionth time, just because I got the jack of clubs doesn’t mean I’m going to marry Josh Davies!” She flopped back on the grass, thrusting her twelve year old feet into the air. “And besides, I’m WAAAAY to young to get married, silly.”

Sienna stuck her tongue out at her younger sister, holding onto her deck of cards protectively, tracing the pattern on the king of diamond’s crown. “But Amy, it totally works! I mean, I did Rosie’s the other day and it said she’d meet a boy at the park and that’s when she met Ryan! So there!”

“Sen? You knew Rosie was going to be going on that date for WEEKS, it’s all she talked about! Besides, you probably got extra vibes off of me cause twin thing. So you had like. Double Rosie fortune going because I was totally in the room when you did it,” she replied matter of factly, pushing her legs into the air as high as they could go.

Sienna sighed exaggeratedly, rolling over onto her stomach and letting the cards fall into the grass. “Fine, fine, you win. But only cause you’re extra annoying today,” she said, tugging affectionately on Amy’s hair.

Amy grinned the grin of a younger sister who has accomplished her life’s goals in one go, and moved to rest her head on Sienna’s back, staring up at the clouds. “I promise one day I’ll believe all your silly stuff, but Josh Davies is just plain gross so I’m going to choose not to believe that. Besides,” she added conspiratorially, “I bet he was a bug in his past life.”

Sienna laughed loudly, pushing Amy off her back and moving to sit and ruffle her sister’s hair. “Love you, Ames.”

Hope you like, Karen!
