Random thoughts
I always forget how much I love big cities until I got back to one. I'm currently in Milwaukee for work, doing two days worth of visits with alumni (seven visits, to be exact-busy busy!) My last visit tonight was right downtown in the city, and walking back to my car I was reminded of how much I like big cities-the tall buildings, sensory overload, the sounds, everything.
That's one of my favorite parts of this job, getting to travel. I was in the Twin Cities last month, and it was the same feeling. I don't know if I could live in a big city long term, but I think I'd like to at least live near a big city for a few years.
I can't wait to go back to Portland . . . I absolutely love the city. I don't know why, but it's just really cool. And I can't wait to see Seattle-I've heard that's a cool city too. A whole week . . . it's going to be great.
And I'd like to point out that I didn't get lost once driving around in the city-it was my first time doing any city driving by myself (lame, I know). But, I manged to get around the barrage of one-way streets and crazy intersections without incident. We'll have to see how I fare tomorrow.
Oh, just saw the preview for the new James Bond movie . . . I can't wait to see that.
I think I'm going to buy a new digital camera . . . mine's pretty old and not working the best, and I'd really like to have a working once for when I go to Seattle. I had some free time today and went to Best Buy to check out some . . . I think I found one I like, and it's a good price. We'll see.
