i think this one & the one i posted in my own journal are my favorite poems of his.
we have been discussing him in my modern lit class lately, after talking about sylvia plath. many of my classmates seem to despise him for his history with plath -- he left her and she killed herself. but the way i see it, they both had their faults. she probably would have killed herself regardless of him being in her life...she had issues, and he did too.
i guess i just have trouble blaming him completely. i can't pin him as the bad guy. i think he really loved her. i think sometimes, people change.

& i haven't read much by him yet, but i liked the one you posted so i went searching. i love this one to pieces.
i don't blame him entirely either, i think maybe he contributed but they both had their issues. did you see her son just killed himself?

and i don't know. i think i take that theory and run with it because it's the most logical to me...like it's the best way i can appreciate or understand the losses in my life. i'm not sure that makes sense or not; it sounded better in my head than it came out.
