Patsy Cline died 46 years ago today. She was 30.
30 used to seem far away. But, since I'm turning 26 next month, I know it will be here soon.
Okay, I know a beloved singer's death isn't exactly a holiday, but it seemed wrong to pass up an opportunity to honor Patsy Cline.
Here's a video of her singing "She's Got You," which was written by Hank Cochran and always gives me chills, especially at "Or has it got me?" This version is slightly more jaunty than the recording that I love, but her power really comes through. The song has lately been undergoing a resurgence, what with being on Lost a few times and Cat Power covering it.
