everybody's gotta learn sometime

I'm greatly inspired by the latest set of Live Aid concerts. I didn't see much, but Dido and Youssou N'Dour singing Seven Seconds is a highlight. Is this just a pipe-dream? Will people with power and money really decide to give that power and money away to help Africa out? Fuck I hope so, but I'm left with a nagging doubt. Anyway, if you haven't signed up here, please do so. This could be a really momentous decision.[-o<

I finished House Of Leaves a few weeks back but forgot to post about it. OK, so... READ THIS BOOK. It was a little hard going, but unbelievably addictive, and shocking, and gruesome, and challenging. And so clever. There's all variety of wordplay, and unanswered questions, and this book doesn't live by any rules. I mean there are paragraphs running up the side of the page, there are pages that consist of only one word, there are footnotes that lead you around in a never-ending maze (you'll understand the significance of that when you read the book). But it also has the power to literally take your breath away while reading - one section in particular which consists of letters from a psychotic mother honestly made me cry out in shock. Seriously, read it, I promise you won't be disappointed.

Veronica Mars is coming out on DVD!! With EXTRAS no less!! I'm still obsessing over this show, and it's the first show which has made me want to vid it, which is just bizarre because the thought of vidding had never really occurred to me before. But the characters are all so pretty, and lend themselves so easily to either tragedy or irony, or tragic irony, it's all so perfect.

Here's some new Australian music I thought I'd upload. I love these songs. Enjoy!!
Walls - The Red Paintings
Do The Whirlwind - Architecture In Helsinki
Wishbone - Architecture In Helsinki
Slow Moving - The Avenues
Clean - The Boat People
Undercover - The Inches
