It doesn’t mean he is prepared for this.
Hoped to never see you again. Why now. Why now? Why why why?
He wants to ask so many questions - so many that they could be here for days and there would still remain so many unanswered, but he swallows them all and almost chokes on the bitter taste. He is over that. The other is certainly over that. They have nothing to talk about.
Except…
“Did you lead the chase?” the sound which escapes his throat is hoarse and roughly scrapes against the silence. He’s proud it didn’t crack.
“Would it make a difference if I did?” the voice is monotone and glides towards him without much resistance, seeping under his skin and curling around his veins, chilling him to the core. His lips feel numb as he answers.
“Not really.”
“It doesn’t really matter what I say, it will be easier on you if you believe what you want. Maybe, they sent me knowing who had to be hunted down. Maybe, I volunteered knowing who we had to chase,” there is a slight pause and then the other’s voice comes much closer to his ears, “or maybe, nobody knows you are here, Jin.”
He jerks at his name. It’s been too long. He is not prepared for this.
“What do you want?”
“I wanted to see you.”
The other’s immediate answer delivered in such a calm, conversational tone makes his head spin. He probably made some sound to that, because now it’s the other’s turn to ask questions.
“You don’t believe me?”
“Would it make a difference if I did?”
Jin can almost see the other’s calculating eyes staring at his bound form, head slightly cocked to one side.
“Not really.”
There is silence between them again and Jin is confused, cold and a little bit frightened. His injuries throb; he thinks they should hurt more, but they probably pumped him with enough stuff to last him for days. Well, he won’t sing, no matter what; if that’s what he is here for, anyway.

“Open your eyes.”
Ignore him.
“Are you afraid of me?” there is slight amusement in the other’s tone - so subtle that if he didn’t know him so well, he could have easily missed it. How he wished he could have missed it.
Jin refuses to rise to the bait, even when he feels those wandering fingers still and press into his right cheekbone, conveniently into one half-healed cut which starts to bleed again from the pressure. It stings.
The other’s slithering, almost soothing voice which gently wraps around his frantically beating heart in a mock-embrace hurts more.
“Open them, or I will tear you pretty little eyes out.”
Jin’s smile is challenging, freezing cold on his lips; Ryo would be proud of him now if he would still be alive.
“Isn’t this why I’m here? You will tear them out anyway.”
The pressure is gone and the other’s voice sounds even more amused now.
“Is that what you believe you are here for?”
Jin doesn’t answer, it would be futile. The less he talks, the more annoyed the other gets and then they can finally get down to business - and hopefully end whatever exists between them, for good. Pity he probably has to die for that in the end.
A painful hiss leaves his lips and his eyes shot open immediately when he feels a wet trail running up and up on his cheek, carefully avoiding the small trail of blood and cut, ending near the corner of his eye in an almost-kiss. He tries to move, to roll, to shift, to anything - but he can’t, because he is bound and it’s painful and it hurts and he is not ready for this, not, not please don’t---
“You taste like life.” Kame whispers into his skin; watching him, watching his every reaction.
Their eyes lock, Kame breathes and Jin knows he is lost.

Kame nods while he paints unrecognizable patterns on Jin’s throat with his fingernails.
“You volunteered.”
Kame smiles a little half-smile - a smile he only let-lets-Jin see. It’s a little shy and secretive, almost playful and Jin missed this, missed him too.
“I told you I wanted to see you.” comes the explanation and he… he desperately hopes that…
“Nobody knows I am here. Nobody knows we are here.”
Jin closes his eyes and lets out a long sigh. The air is still chilly and the stone is still cold against his back, he is still bound and Kame can still very well torture him and kill him after that, but for the first time in a long while, he feels at peace. Home.
I missed you.
“That’s nice, but I’m a little uncomfortable here.” He tugs a little at his restraints for emphasis.
Kame’s wandering fingers slowly wrap around his throat. They don’t squeeze, drum or caress - they just rest there, the hand’s comfortable weight feather-lightly pressing onto his clammy skin. Kame’s eyes wander over his unmoving legs then slowly, slowly start to climb up on his form in a manner that makes Jin feel vulnerable and helpless and oh god his pulse quickens because Kame’s eyes are molten fire, desire lurking in the smoky depths and Jin remembers long-forgotten nights when pleasure was drumming through his veins, when Kame was by his side, when Kame laughed, when Kame sheeted, when Kame whispered into his neck I like you best.
There is a deliciously warm body leaning onto him in a half-embrace while Kame’s fingers slide from his throat to the back of his neck, tangling and playing with the little hairs found there.
“I had to. Tie you up and keep you here because you never listen. Because,” Kame takes a deep breath and slowly exhales. The air is scalding against Jin’s cloth-clad shoulder and he can’t help the small shiver running up his spine, “you always kept running and we never talked and you-you always believed what you wanted to believe, never really listening to me. Even when I tried to tell you; and I wanted to tell you that Takizawa thought that I,” his voice cracks, the bottled-up frustration and helplessness during all these years threatening to spill, but Kame is still Kame so he swallows, gasps and goes on determinedly, “should do it. This. And I agreed, because it was an opportunity I--no, we couldn’t pass up. Couldn’t.” the last few words are tired whispers on Jin’s shirt as the Kame’s form slightly shudders against his.
Jin feels so relieved at the revelation because some unconscious part of him always wanted to believe that Kame wasn’t really a traitor; but at the same time an aching pain slowly spreads in his chest because during all these years, during all this time he’s been hating Kame, made everything complicated and difficult when it could have been simple and a lot easier. For the both of them.
They sit on the floor leaning against each other, just breathing. It’s calm, warm and soothing and Jin could fall asleep like this, with Kame by his side and knowing that everything is going to be alright again. The other moves, though, and Jin sleepily blinks at him when Kame lifts his arms to his bound wrists.

Kame seems a little uncertain as he looks down at Jin.
“Untying you.”
Jin glances at Kame’s waist, the smooth, unmarred skin showing invitingly under the shirt as it rides up a little with Kame’s movements. He nervously licks his lips and his throat feels dry as he blurts out his next sentence.
“You don’t have to.”
Kame’s hands freeze on his bounds and Jin’s heart starts to beat a little faster, sleepiness deserting him in a flash as he can feel Kame’s eyes raking over his form. The stare is almost violating in its intensity. It makes his pulse quicken.
He stiffens as Kame slowly caresses his palms then tangles his fingers with his, pushes his legs closer and shifts till he’s straddling Jin’s thighs. Jin holds his breath as Kame smirks and gently kisses his cheek, then shudders as the other’s lips finally rest against his own.

Jin slowly opens his mouth and his tongue meets Kame’s halfway, slick, wet heat tangling and sliding against each other while Kame presses his chest against his, forcing his body closer to the stone wall behind his back. The fingers leave his hands to rub gentle circles on the inside of his arms, slightly resting on his frantically drumming pulse and then suddenly, those devilish fingers with nails mercilessly rake down his skin, leaving faint, red marks behind them and Jin shudders at the sensation.
They part and Kame trails open-mouthed kisses along his jaw-line, nuzzles his neck while Jin gasps and tilts his head to give him better access. Kame’s hands are everywhere on him - tugging at his clothes, worming their way under the material and caressing his skin, staying a little longer on his scar lines, skimming over his nipples and Jin lets out an aroused hiss between his teeth as Kame bites at the pulse point on his neck, then trembles as the other laps at the abused area.
Kame’s mouth is demanding as it maps any uncovered area, long-forgotten love patterns revealing themselves to his hungry eyes again. His every touch burns as he gets familiar with the body straining against his and Jin can’t help but moan as Kame’s right hand presses against his stomach while the other rubs soothing circles on his hip, occasionally skimming over the waistband of his pants.

Then Kame slides even closer on his lap and rolls his hips in a way that Jin kind of forgets how to breathe for a second. Kame does it again and again, moves lazily, maddening slowly over Jin when he suddenly, without warning bites down on Jin’s collar bone. Jin jerks, his whole body trembles and a curse leaves his chapped lips with simultaneous needy sounds of Kame please more oh god-
Kame shuts him up quickly with a kiss as he fumbles with the fastenings on his pants and soon all coherency leaves Jin as long fingers curl around his aching cock, tracing teasing patterns on the sensitive skin and Jin tries to arch up, open his legs to ask for more and soon curses his restrictions which prevent him to do so. Kame is whispering into his ear - how sexy he looks like this, how wanton he seems and how he likes every bit of Jin being at his mercy; that he has been dreaming of this for months. His voice is rough with desire and he is watching Jin behind half lowered lashes; and Jin can’t help but shudder at what he reads in those impossibly dark depths.
Jin shuts his eyes and whimpers as Kame wraps his hand around him more firmly, pumps and slides and pulls, strokes confidently at a steady pace which slowly increases by every passing second and Jin thinks he will go mad oh god he will die, then Kame blows hot air onto his ear, bites down on his earlobe while he twists his wrist and Jin’s world goes black as he comes with a broken cry.
After he gets back to reality, his head still feels dizzy and his ragged breathing sounds awfully loud to his ears. Kame’s weight is pressing against him in a comfortable way and Jin blinks sleepily at his lover, a sated smile playing on his lips.
He freezes, though, when he feels the chilling, razor sharp knife against the sweaty skin of his neck.
It will be easier on you if you believe what you want.
He feels sick, the bitter taste of betrayal rising like bile in the back of his throat.
You never listen.
Kame gently, lovingly presses a kiss to his cheek as he moves his hand and Jin can hear him whisper-
