Kame liked to think of himself a neat and tidy person. His books were always put away in their proper shelves, his clothes were always folded and placed in their respective drawers, and any speck of dust he noticed was promptly vacuumed away.
Kame found it odd, then, when his apartment began to show signs of disarray even when he wasn’t home. His CD rack was knocked over, his clothes (surprisingly only his underwear drawer) had been rifled through, and that picture of himself at the beach in his swimsuit had disappeared.
The first few times, he thought he had been robbed, carefully searching through his stuff, to find nothing missing. Well, other than pictures of him, that continuously seemed to vanish whenever he left his house.
Finally, one night after he had stepped out of a shower, and noted several hearts carved into the steam onto his mirror, did Kame finally understand his predicament.
His house was haunted.

“There’s a ghost in my apartment.” Kame bemoaned the Jin over the phone, as he spent another night picking up his scattered stuff.
Jin frowned, and set down the controller to his X-Box to hold his phone closely to his ear.
“What do you mean haunted?”
“Like, there’s a dead guy’s spirit in my house, kind of haunted.”
“It’s not nice to lie, Kame. Especially when you know I’m afraid of ghosts and it’s dark outside and it’s raining, and I’m all alone.”
A sudden rattling and ominous groaning was heard in the background on Kame’s end of the phone. Sounds of furniture crashing to the floor, and Kame’s surprised yelps forced Jin to fight the urge to hang up and scream involuntarily.
Several moments later, Kame’s voice came back on the line.
“Does that prove I’m not lying?”
“Kame, your house is haunted!” Jin shrieked, like he was passing on new and vital information. “Why are you still staying there?!”
“Because I don’t know what kind of state my house will be in if I leave! I need to get the damn thing out of here. Come and help me!”
Jin’s eyes widened, and he shook his head furiously, forgetting briefly that he was speaking to Kame over the phone.
“Hell no!”
“Jin! What the hell?!”
“Have you ever WATCHED horror movies Kame? It’s always the well-meaning boyfriend that gets killed FIRST! I'll go there, and try to help, and then I'll disappear and you'll never see me again! I can't do that to you Kame! I am NEVER setting foot into a haunted apartment!”
“Well I need somebody’s help! Whatever is haunting my apartment keeps knocking over my stuff and messing up my clothes and leaving me love messages-“
Jin shot to attention.
“What was that last part?”
“Leaving me love messages? I don’t know, the ghost likes to leave me notes all over the place with little hearts all over them, and once I swear it left one on my bathroom mirror when I was showering.”
Silence reigned over the line for several minutes.
“Jin?”
“I’ll be right over.”

Kame arched an eyebrow, looking very unimpressed. “You’re holding a vacuum.”
“It’s not a vacuum!” Jin said proudly. “It’s a ghost catching device. I saw it on a TV show once.”
Kame just sighed and closed the door, as Jin turned on his ‘ghost catching device’ and stalked slowly throughout the apartment, knocking things over unceremoniously as he went.
Thirty-minutes later, Jin switched off the device and learned against the plastic hose triumphantly. “I caught the ghost. You can thank me now.”
Kame looked up from his spot on the couch, and crossed his arms. “How can you even say that? Nothing happened.”
“Exactly. If a ghost was here, something would’ve happened by NOW, so clearly I must have caught it.”
Jin’s eyes narrowed seductively as he took a seat next to Kame and slung an arm over the younger man’s shoulder. “Another possibility is that I’m so intimidating and formidable that the ghost decided to quit having this little crush on you, because I have bested it in every way.”
Suddenly, a great bout of laughter was heard within Kame’s apartment. The lights flickered, the furniture shook, and Jin dove behind Kame and pointed at a glowing orb manifesting in the air.
"You wish, buddy," the orb called out.
Jin screamed and darted from the couch as fast as he could. Frozen in shock, Kame just watched as the orb slowly changed into a figure who grinned cheekily and held up two ‘fingers’ in a peace sign.
“Yo.”

“So you’re my ghost.” Kame said calmly, as he gestured for Jin to return to the couch.
The ghost laughed, and swooped down with one of his ‘hands’ to cup Kame’s chin.
“I got a name, cutie. You can call me Koki.”
Jin, who had been cowering and trembling in a corner, stiffened hearing the word ‘cutie’, and ran back to the couching pulling Kame possessively towards him, shooting the spirit a jealous glare.
“He’s not calling you anything! I command you to get out of this apartment right now!”
Koki floated up on his side and yawned. “Or what, you’ll vacuum me?”
Jin’s eyes widened and his mouth hung open in rage. “IT’S NOT A VACCUUM! Kame did you hear that!?”
“Um, Koki,” Kame started tentatively, ignoring Jin’s outburst. “Can you tell me why you’ve been haunting me these past few days?”
Koki sighed and floated down to a spot next to Kame, taking one of Kame’s hands in his, and ignoring Jin’s subsequent grunt.
“I was a construction worker who was doing some repairs on the building right across from yours. Everyday, I’d see you through your windows, hurrying around and tidying. Y’see, I was the only person that provided for my family, so I didn’t get to see other guys my age, a lot. Those brief moments I saw you, brightened up my day a bit.”
Koki flashed Kame a sad smile, noticing that the young man had wiggled out of Jin’s grip a bit, and was listening with enthusiasm.
“If you don’t mind, how did you, y’know...”
“Die?” Koki asked. “Construction is hazardous job I guess. I slipped on one of the rails I was on, and I fell. Next thing I knew, I was a ghost and I was in this apartment. I’ve always wanted to see you up close. I wish it could’ve been under different circumstances.”
Kame smiled, and Koki moved to run one of his ‘hands’ through a bit of Kame’s hair.
“You’ve been really cool letting me stick around as long as you did. It’s been nice, but I think it’s time for me to move on anyways. Not to mention I think the lummox over there is willing to see if it’s possible to kick a ghost’s ass.”
Jin huffed. “I’d make it possible.”
Kame elbowed Jin in the gut, and nodded sadly to the spirit. “I’m glad you got a little bit of happiness staying here. I hope you find happiness where you’re going.”
Koki laughed as his figure began to fade. “Thank you.” Quickly flashing Kame a kissy-face, he grinned. “Oh, and I’m keeping the picture of you in the bathing suit, by the way. Memories and all that.”
Jin’s subsequent screech of anger was missed by the ghost as the lights turned back on, and Koki vanished from their sight.

Kame sighed and leaned his head on Jin’s chest. “What a sad story. I feel bad for the poor guy.”
“Sad? Sad? That pervert was in your home watching you! He watched you sleep, and eat, and shower…”
“I brought happiness into his life! That means something!”
Pouting, Jin’s voice descended into a whine. “I came here to help you get rid of a ghost that you feel sorry for. I was scared you know! It was dark, and spooky and I don’t get any appreciation. You were supposed to be all thankful and--”
Kame silenced Jin with a quick kiss, and leaned against Jin once again. “My hero. Thank you.”
Jin just sighed and snuggled Kame closer.
He'd put up the anti-ghost charms in the morning.

The only thing I'd change is to make the Xbox a PS2, because Japanese people don't buy Xboxes. Lke, at all. Sorry for being an anal gamer geek, this has been your public service announcement for the day! >_>

I was playing Halo 3 and that's why it popped into my head that the system should be an X-box. ^^;

Don't encourage me, because I had this idea of a sequel where House get's called in to Japan by some mysterious client who turns out to be Johnny because Kame's contacted some stange disease. And House just spends the majority of the fic being all 'OH DEAR GOD NOT AGAIN'.
