"To keep you bound," Ueda had told them, "and silence your footfalls."
Jin wore a matching band on his left hand.
The weight of a gun was heavy in the right pocket of Kame's navy pea coat, borrowed from one of Ueda's bodyguards. His silver cross resided in his left, along with a small dagger. It was for last resort purposes, but he figured it might come in handy for things like rope-cutting, and he was a fair shot with darts. Hopefully, aiming a blade wouldn't be too different.
He felt slightly ridiculous. They weren't aiming to get into a shoot out, but both Ueda and Jin had agreed that if they did get into a situation, Kame was the tender, inexperienced human-"Professor," Jin had added-between them. That would render him more or less useless unless he could protect himself.
Even so, all Jin had was a full-length katana slung over his back. No automatic weapons, no armor, nothing. Even the leather jacket had been left behind; it just wasn't practical in a fight, and Jin liked it too much to chance it being destroyed.
Kame wondered briefly if he was overdressed for the party, so to speak, but gave it up since they were already halfway there.
According to Ueda's sources, Koki was being held in a warehouse near the bay, one in a long line of identical buildings.
"172… 173… 174. Here we are."
Kame looked up at the white walls and took a deep breath before getting off the back of Jin's bike. "I'm not a professor, by the way."
Jin stopped twirling his sword experimentally. "What?"
"I don't teach. I don't have patience. Or the tolerance for stupidity."
The vampire laughed, and it felt like a splash of warm brandy down his throat, soothing his nerves. "All right, then, doc." Jin swiped a thumb down the corner of his lip and bared his teeth. "Let's go be big damn heroes."

Tried to imagine Professor Kame teaching a roomful of juniors, and it just. Didn't work at all. I feel like he'd be a good one-on-one tutor, but with a huge crowd of people, he'd lose it.
Jin is just. Hot. x.x The staged sword fights on Utawara. So hot.
...It is now? XD XD XD ♥
