I seriously fail because I can't believe it's been nearly a month since I last posted. I don't FEEL like I've been off LJ at all since I'm always on it, but ugh. Have been way too lazy to actually post anything.
i. Quick run-down of my life since the 9th (of NOVEMBER).
♥ I went rock-climbing a total of two times during November (we had a group-on for a month's worth, but Nov. ended up being super busy and preoccupying that we couldn't use it too much). That said, I don't think we would've done more than a total of maybe three times anyway because, guys. Rock-climbing is HARD. It's exciting and going up is challenging (sometimes those foot/hand holds are pathetic), but so exhilarating. Going down, however, scares the CRAP OUT OF ME, even though C is at the other end of the rope, and I can totally trust her to keep me safe. (Still, at the very top as I wait until I start to go down, I always seem to wait for some big DROP even though it'll never happen. ~_~;; *PARANOIA*)
♥A co-worker retired and they had this awesome retirement party for him the week before his last day. It was fabulous--they really went all out (even though it's been a long time since they put this much effort into someone's retirement party >.>). And I thought it was much appreciated. I adored him and was sad to see him go, but time goes by so fast!
♥ THANKSGIVING. My cousin came from West Point (he's a cadet!) to celebrate that weekend with us (apparently they're not allowed to be there during the holidays so we were the closest for him to crash at--since he lives in California). And C was here too to celebrate! (Her new tradition lol) My mom went all out and baked an ACTUAL TURKEY. *______________* It was fabulous. She wrapped it in bacon even. I could not believe how delicious that thing was. ATE SO MUCH, I WAS SO RIDICULOUSLY STUFFED BY THE END OF THE NIGHT.
A photo of our amazing Thanksgiving dinner. I only wish we'd taken a picture of JUST the turkey, because quite frankly, the best part of that whole meal. *_____________* (OH AND THE GRAVY WHICH MY SISTER MADE FROM THE DRIPPINGS. OH GOD, IT WAS HEAVEN. *___________________* NNNNNNGH.)
♥ C and I also tempura-ed bananas which was SUCH hard work because we took forever trying to figure out what the perfect timing was to get the bananas OUT of the oil, but we did manage, after like 15 different trials. lolol But people enjoyed it--which made us happy and proud!!!!!
♥ Then we went Black Friday shopping the next day!!!!! Was meant to leave in the EARLY AM, but well... shit didn't work out (people were too tired in other words) and we ended up going after 10AM. Um, 8 hours straight of shopping, and all I walked away with was a new wallet, a dress and a sweatshirt. THAT'S IT. Granted they were from places I would usually never buy (Gap and Hollister), but still. It was kind of a waste. >.< I bought more stuff from Filene's basement two days prior. (And a NEW BAG at that.)
♥ The day after was going to be cousin's last day with us, so we (C and I) brought him around NYC!!! It was a bit hard to tell if he was bored or not, but he said he enjoyed it so at least... that was okay? But he is uber polite and whatnot, SO I'M STILL NOT SURE. We did a lot of walking though. Holy shit, so tiring. o.o And then, on Sunday morning, we dropped him off at West Point. The day before he'd said that the place totally reminded him of Hogwarts and I could see why, lol.
♥ There was a bit of drama this past week because my mom's four friends were coming over to stay for five days. To fit them all in the house, they COMPLETELY kicked me out of my room. To the point that I had to arrange to get my clothes before they arrived because otherwise, I wouldn't be able to go in there. SO ANNOYING. >.< I got into a fight with my mom, she guilted me, I got all annoyed/teary at the same time. IT WAS ALL FRUSTRATING. So they came, I was relegated to the damn living room, and the night they arrived, THEY SAT IN THE KITCHEN FOR AT LEAST 2 HOURS JUST CHATTING AWAY AT LIKE 1 AM. I had work the next day, so you can imagine how happy I was to get like 2 and a half hours of sleep. THE FUCK, PEOPLE. They did the same the night before they left WHICH WHAT THE SHIT, I HAD WORK THE NEXT NIGHT AGAIN. It's like they knew. They also threw a party for them on Saturday which I spent most of in my parents' room, watching television. I even managed to rescue this 9-year-old girl from the boredom of the adults and dragged her upstairs. She enjoyed herself though! Playing with Rico, and after realizing she finished her two books, I gave her HP book 2 to read! She got so enraptured with it that she didn't even want to LEAVE. That made me happy. And hope she loves the rest of the series as well. :D
♥ Yesterday I had to work this fancy work dinner. SO FUCKING TIRING. It didn't help that my boss decided that we would walk from our work place on 56th to 42nd. Last time we ushered a work event, it was like 4/5 avenues over AND WE TOOK A CAB. But 14 blocks down? EASY. >.> Made no sense. It was good. I took registration for the first time, which was overwhelming because omg, SO MANY PEOPLE, but interesting. Prior to that though, there was a LOT of walking around and getting shit set-up. My GOD. Plus they managed to get everything done in like an hour and a half--from completely dismantling a whole set-up to ANOTHER set-up. Seriously, WOW. Would not want to work in one of those places--I can imagine the insanity from just the little touch of it I got yesterday.
ii. God, a lot of shit happened in the past month. In other stuff. Watched a bunch of movies--still watching a bunch of movies. I'm pretty much caught up on every single American show I watch (except yesterday's episodes) and have now realized that I want a Gossip Girl/2 Broke Girls crossover universe. I COULD TOTALLY SEE THE WORLDS MESHING. After all, Caroline TOTALLY was rich, and I could see her mixing in with the GG gang (different ages currently, but hell, that's what fanfiction's for). I don't think she'd be as tight-knit (she seems more sensible than most of those characters >.> can you imagine any of them losing their money like she did?), but maybe a more than casual acquaintance. lolol I really wish someone else had this thought, because I'm not entirely sure how I can write GG WHEN I DON'T WATCH THE SHOW. >.< then i wondered to myself what other NYC-based shows could be cross-overed. and then realized, this was dangerous and stopped myself. XD before that, i wondered about 2 broke girls/himym. i hope they do this for real because omg, barney/max. HELL, ROBIN/MAX. AWESOMENESS. i would die.
iii. AND LASTLY.
