[#096] My Thighs are Sore. D:

Oct 26, 2011 09:23

I blame it all on my mom. D:

i. I had to rake yesterday for the first time in like two years. MY THIGHS HURT SO MUCH RIGHT NOW. I've had to use muscles I haven't used in a long time. And my siblings suck because they wouldn't help! See, my brother I understand--he's been sick since Monday, but my sisters? They just suck. Plus, SA seems to get an attitude change whenever AR is back home--she gets bitchier, less likely to help out and ALL AROUND WENCH. ://// I'm sorry I'm putting you out of your way of doing NOTHING WITH YOUR LIFE. Ugh. I don't even understand.

Also in real life, on Monday night while we were waiting for my dad to get off work, we played Name the 50 States!!!! LOL Yes, we are that lame. We only played for 30 mins because we started to get lazy of thinking too hard and it turned out we did pretty well! The most someone was missing was 10 but my bro pretty much won because he was only missing 2. >.> I would've been super close at 3 if I hadn't somehow forgot the Carolinas! XDDDD I don't get how I forgot North/South states when there are only 2 pairs!

ii. I swear I had more to talk about but now I can't remember. So let's head into media! :D Movies first.
a. Paradise Kiss: I just saw this yesterday and fell in love with it. I remember being trepidatious when I heard about the casting for this movie. Not because of Keiko for Yukari (I don't remember if I was for or against it actually), but because of Mukai as George. Don't get me wrong, I love Mukai Osamu, but I just didn't think he looked like George to me. But much like Yamamoto Yusuke playing Tamaki in Ouran Host Club, Mukai pleasantly surprised me. I still don't think he was a perfect George, but he was still pretty damn good. *____________* In general, the casting for this movie was fucking awesome. First there's Kaku Kento as Arashi, Oomasa Aya as Miwako, Igarashi Shinji as Isabella, Yamamoto Yusuke as Tokumori. ALL WERE FABULOUS. I love Yamamoto Yusuke more and more every day and he played Tokumori, earnest and lovely and all that perfectly. Igarashi as Isabella was amazing; I almost couldn't tell it was him!

Can we talk about that conversation at the beginning that Yukari had with Tokumori regarding George? How she was afraid of him because she knew deep down that if she spent more time with him, he would change her life around? That whole thing made me wibble because I totally understand. It's scary changing her path--she's been doing one thing for so long that the idea of changing so drastically from one thing to the next, especially something that's so far out of her range, is scary. And George had that power for her--he had the strength and the drive to be able to get her out of this shell she made herself since she was young, and changed her life. And yes, she was freaked out and it was so very different, but holy shit, when Yukari went out onto that runway and walked her way, you totally believed George when he was just sitting in awe watching the screen. SO FUCKING POWERFUL. I have so much love for that runway scene. The power that Yukari put into it, making that dress look so beautiful and the silence that everyone was put under to the point that they were cheering like mad at the end. My God. The movie did so well in that point. I also love that after the reveal that they were second, Yukari's pout at losing. SO AMUSING. ♥♥♥ In general though, Keiko rocked all her modeling scenes--then again, she is a model! It totally shows in those scenes why she's such a good one.

I also realized that Keiko is kind of shit at crying scenes lol. Which, as Peyton said on twitter, we've known since Buzzer Beat, but it never really hit me until I was watching them in this movie. There were 3 significant crying scenes and she only got 2/3 of them. One being such an emotional scene when Yukari realizes that George left her his closet--the closet filled with all the designs he's ever made. Designs he'd never give up because each dress is important to him, is filled with memories as he said. That scene needed, deserved a good crying scene but Keiko didn't really do well. But the one that I think she did okay in was at the end, when Yukari realizes that George has been following her career. The wibble she had seeing those fallen magazines on the floor. I totally felt it.

I could go on and on about various bits and pieces of this movie. Let's also mention that they filmed in fucking New York, not too far from my work place. YOU BET I WAS ALL ANGRY BECAUSE DAMN IT, I ALWAYS MISS THE PEOPLE WHO FILM HERE. DDDDD: All in all, it was such an amazing movie and I was so pleasantly surprised at the adaptation. I think they did an amazing job. I'm hoping that this follows a good trend of manga/anime adaptations with Rurouni Kenshin and Ranma 1/2 coming up sometime.

b. Crazy Stupid Love: I have been wanting to see this for a LONG WHILE because holy shit does Ryan Gosling/Emma Stone look amazing together. Favoritest scene will always be the almost sex scene between them that didn't really work out, lol. Especially after Emma Stone's character goes, "TAKE OFF YOUR SHIRT." and he does and her reaction is, "IT'S LIKE YOU'RE PHOTOSHOPPED." XDDDDDD I enjoyed this movie all together though. Ryan Gosling's character becoming friends with Steve Carrell was amusing, the things he "taught" him and the loyalty he developed for him to the point that he punched Kevin Bacon (even removing his ring which made me seriously LOL) was absolute love. I didn't see the twist coming that Emma Stone was one of his children, but it made sense in the whole scheme of things! I only wish we'd seen more of Ryan Gosling/Emma Stone's relationship develop more because the jump his character made to go from playboy to committed was rather abrupt. (you better bet I went searching for fic--and came up empty. sadface.) Totally enjoyable! ♥♥ (Now please tell me there's fic for those two because absolute neeeeeeed.)

iii. Now dramas! I've seen the first episode of four dramas so far: Hunter, Himitsu Chouhouin Erika, Nazotoki wa Dinner no Ato de and Yokai Ningen Bem. Of the four, the strongest start was definitely Yokai Ningen Bem. I originally had no impression of this drama because the plot wasn't that interesting to me--3 man-made creatures who want to be human and, as far as I can tell, through their good deeds (and the tears of humans?), will be able to do so. Definitely not the kind of story I'd usually get into, but Kame/Anne/Suzuki Fuku really make you feel so sad for them. (although I have to admit, Kame still walks with his usual swagger/sway thing and makes me laugh every goddamn time.) Anne also is just plain gorgeous in this. I think it's a combination of that dress and her hair and whatever, but I think she looks so pretty and I may already ship her and Kame's character. lol Also, I can totally see the twist ending coming so hard that I hope I'm pleasantly surprised by something else. i doubt it though.

Nazotoki wa Dinner no Ato de was the most boring imo. I couldn't believe that the way they solved a case was literally have Keiko's character RETELL IT to Sho's character. Him somehow solving it and then her going over to confront the bad guy. Seriously?! Most boring detective drama I've ever fucking seen. Hunter is entertaining (I've seen the first two eps already) and I just enjoy Yonekura/Tanihara's scenes in general. He's hysterical and acts so aloof around her, but there's this underlying seriousness. Kiritani Mirei is decent in it and I'm half-hoping she'll have scenes with Koizumi Kotaro. I don't know if I ship that but we'll see if they ever put them together! And lastly, Himitsu Chouhouin Erika is my second favorite. :D I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it (even though it's only 30 mins long--or maybe it's because it's 30 mins long) and how much I didn't hate Kuriyama Chiaki's face in it. XDDDD i've had a thing against it ever since I saw that Kids movie with her and Koike Teppei/Tamaki Hiroshi. Her and her husband are the cutest of cute and I really hope that the reveal of her as a spy won't break them. DDDDD: Plus it took over the Detective Conan time slot (my assumption anyway since it begins the same way--Thursday Mystery Theater!) and I approve of a mystery half-hour. lol

yokai ningen bem, crazy stupid love, paradise kiss, nazotoki wa dinner no ato de, mukai osamu fix, kame love was just inevitable, lame is my other middle name, sakurai sho is a totally rounded idol, movie, hunter, i really love my family, himitsu chouhouin erika
