i. So I've been following all the fandom related ways to raise money for Japan. Not so much help_japan, but arashi_on's efforts because I love that they've raised nearly 14,000 dollars in less than a week. I think that's amazing and so moving in so many different ways. I've contributed here and there, but I'm still obnoxiously stalking the garage sale (I LOVE IT) and any other sales post that are contributing the money straight to an organization. *____________* There are some cute little trinkets here and there. But I have been wanting to contribute something as well. And since I don't really want to write and have no other real skills unless there's a way to bid for "will organize your computer so it's neater" or some obnoxious ocd thing that only i have the patience to do, I thought on it and thought on it. Then came up with something possible. Do you guys think people would be interested in paper star jars like these?
(Sorry about the bad quality pics--i actually cropped them out of a bigger picture i'd conveniently taken of my book shelf about two years ago laughing. I'd actually forgotten I had two--although I am starting to think I had given the left one away to some one...)
I don't know if you can tell, but I had tried to do a gradient thing for both--the right seems more obvious but that could be because it's also bigger lol. Would people be interested? o.o
ii. On another random note, je_whiteday finished posted yesterday!!!! It's funny because last time I posted, it was just starting. Then again, posting's for 5 days so lol. I haven't commented to much (just two so far) but oh man, this weekend I'm totally going to go back and comment to some of my favorites. You guys should too! There are some amazing fics out there--DRAMA/MOVIE FICS TOO!!!--and we should totally let these het writers that they're amazing so they can write me more het XD. But yes! Let's do the guessing game this year: I wrote two fics. Can you guys guess which ones? :DDD if it helps, neither are arashi, so that narrows it down significantly
iii. So I was thinking about this this morning, but what were the most interesting/worst nicknames you guys have ever gotten? Back in high school, there was this one guy who insisted (okay, not so much insisted, but joked) that I was Mexican and not Filipino. So whenever he saw me he would call me something like "Burrito!" or "Taco!" (I feel like there was one that was really just OUT THERE) whenever he saw me. It was... kind of awkward. ~_~ And thinking on it, racist. XDDDD Otherwise, I got the normal "let's just shorten your name!" nicknames, although usually with the name "Desiree" it was shortened to Desi. One girl wanted to be different--even asked me what I'm not normally called--and called me "Ree." Another friend would sometimes call me "Desiway" because she liked saying "Desiway--for everyone to go to!" It makes.. well, it's just a terrible pun is all. XDDD
P.S. I'm still chugging away at the J-drama/J-movie meme! Albeit very, very slowly. But get in any requests if you like! :D (And point others at it--maybe one of them will spark the fire for them and they are MORE THAN WELCOME to fulfill any of these. :D Or request their own. tis all good. :D)
