[#40] My life, why so boring.

Jan 24, 2011 19:09

i. Currently watching the most recent Arashi concert DVD. It's been a while since I've watched a concert (mainly because I enjoy spending the time watching dramas/tv shows/movies instead) so this is a bit of a surprise. That said, I've been wanting to watching this particular concert for ages because i LOVED this Arashi album. It's pretty damn good. But who's surprised?

I just wanted to share this because omg so cute. Ohno gives Matsujun a quick kiss on the cheek and even if Matsujun was playing it up, he had his hand to his cheek up until he had to say his line. UBER CUTE. ♥

ii. Other than that, just been doing my usual media watch!

Misaki no.1: Ughughugh, I just watched this today and it was just so boring. People have been comparing it to Gokusen and it's kind of hard not to, but by FAR is Gokusen the better drama--even the sequel which I wasn't fond of. Misaki just doesn't have much going fo rher. I mean just in this first episode, when you wonder how Misaki's going to convince the club people, their solution is to have all the people in Roppongi come in and have all these "weapons" to defend her. I mean if this was Yankumi, SHE WOULD KICK ALL THEIR ASSES AND NEVER LET ANYONE DEFEND FOR HER. unless it's shin and that's to a lesser extent and i'm only saying this because i totally ship them anyway, it's just boring. I can't imagine every episode ending in that sort of fashion--i mean, really how bland would that get. It was already bad enough for the first ep. I can imagine dropping this if the second ep isn't very interesting. (which is likely to happen.)

Gaikoukan Kuroda Kousaku: T.T This drama. I was REALLY EXCITED for this drama because it's the sequel to Amalfi, a movie that I absolutely LOVE. And well.... it's kind of whatever. I can't describe it as anything other than that. There are so many inner politics that are unspoken and implied. The characters are obvious in who's evil/who's good. Maybe with further episodes, we'll be able to flesh them out but for the most part, you can tell what you're supposed to think about certain characters. Oda Yuji, who was fucking KICK-ASS in the movie, is so much more toned down. Granted, the excitement of the movie was the ADVENTURE. The CHASES. The mystery. In this, they have to keep that a little down. In the first ep, there was a chase and it was AWESOME. In the second, there was... an escape, I guess. but still. Bland. For the most part, the drama consists of people talking to each other in "read between the lines" dialogue and people hiding and ugh. Not to mention Shibasaki Kou plays the most SOFT-SPOKEN character ever and from all the characters I've ever seen her play, this is so unlike her that I just can't get into her character. Not to mention, she is the exact opposite of kick-ass that it's boring. Hopefully she'll change, but for now, whatEVER.

Fuyu no Sakura: Watching this, all I can think is TSUYOSHI IS THE BESTEST BEST EVER. Well, that and OH GOD, I WANT YOU TO BE HAPPY. T.T Tusyoshi is LOVELY in this drama. You can't help but fall for his character and feel for him. In a way though, I feel he doesn't know what to do with himself if it doesn't consist of helping someone. He went from helping his brother grow up to his mother who DIED in the first ep. And now there's this amnesiac woman (well, not so amnesiac anymore) who confesses that she swears she felt SUFFOCATED in her family life. What else can he do other than try to save her? I mean, really now. And now, now I don't want his heart to be broken but I know it will be because where else will this drama go? Otherwise, the scenery is BEAUTIFUL--the shot of them standing by that huge tree? So fucking awesome. And well, I'm just excited to see where this drama will go. Plus, to watch Tsuyoshi who is an amazing actor. ♥

With those three, I only have three others that I want to check out before I start dropping dramas. (The three left being Deka Wanko, Bartender and that Toda Erika/Miura Haruma drama)

iii. Last Friday, I went to go see John Gabriel Borkman with C. We were actually supposed to go with Sh, but Sh had to back out last minute because of family issues. Understandable, ofc, but that left us with an empty seat. Luckily Sh told us early enough that we could contact a bunch of people to try to fill it up--ten people in total actually. And funnily enough, haha or NOT funnily, nobody was free. ~_~;; Some of the excuses were lame, but whatever. Doesn't matter. In the end, our bags got quite the diva treatment with their own chair. XD But we did pay for that ticket so you know what, they deserve it. lol That said, we were in the balcony and holy shit, the place was rather steep. I can't even describe it. But the play itself? BRILLIANT. It stars Alan Rickman, Fiona Shaw, Lindsay Duncan and they were just FABULOUS. The dialogue was sharp, the comedy was brilliant and it was just well acted. I am really glad we saw it. *_________* The end was mildly anti-climactic but we all saw it coming, I think. lol

P.S. My sister's going away for Florida on Wednesday for five days and ugh. Cannot imagine it mainly because ugh mom is going to seriously be on my case with her gone. T.T Want to be away this weekend.
P.P.S. I had to replace my glasses because a piece of it broke and ugh. WHY ARE GLASSES SO EXPENSIVE. :///// Picking them up tomorrow too.
