It's been a crazy week, but now I have no assignments to hand in, and I'm not working until Wednesday. Whew!
Friday was a nice finish to the week: I met my mom and some friends for dinner, then we went over to the Saw Gallery for a fundraiser art show which I'd submitted three sketches for. They all sold!
There was a lot more sexual work than I'd expected. I always expect nudity, but crude and sometimes weird sexuality, not so much. I expect one of the pieces everyone will be talking about is a pencil sketch of two guys having doggy-style sex, which was actually very very tasteful and extremely well done.
Jue, Gab and my mom left a bit early, but Heather and I stayed later to enjoy some wine and participate in the Spins and Needles. Basically you got your picture taken, then they turned it into a (very abstract) paint-by-number line-art and printed it out for you to colour. The lights were very dim so it was hard to see what we were doing, we kept taking photos of our drawings just to see what colour they actually were! I forgot my camera though, so those are all with Heather now. When she sends them I might put some up, if they're good.
All in all, great fun.
I haven't thought today out too much. I should have gone back to bed when I woke up at 7am. And my mom and I are having dinner at Rob's parents, to meet my niece for the first time. I hope to come back from that with pictures, because 1) BABY CUTENESS and 2) Rob hasn't met her yet either.
I think I'll actually eat a real breakfast today.
