Jue with Corey (who surprisingly apologized to both Marie and I for a certain ill-ended New Year's Eve party a few years ago) Jue isn't looking up, I think she's worried about breaking her neck if she falls down the stairs... They were very uneven and very tricky to walk on!
Bibi with Rob's brother Nick. She is looking up because she's wearing flat shoes and so her life is not in danger.
Marie with Ian (not her Ian, Rob's friend Ian), they were the maid (I'm not allowed to say matron...) of honour and the best man.
My sister was also a bridesmaid, and so was Rob's other brother Ian (yes, this was a confusing wedding!) but for some reason we don't have a photo of them! They came down first.
Then Rob came down with his parents, and I came down with mine, and we asked for our parents' blessing before the ceremony officially started.

We read from The Two Towers, then a handfasting preceded the exchange of rings. It was very important to me and I made a beautiful cord especially for it, but there are no good photos of it, unfortunately. Everyone mentionned what an interesting touch it was, however, so I'm happy with that!
It's now official! We are married!
Rob accepts congratulations from guests.
With all the parents (my mom and her boyfriend, my step-mother and my dad, me and Rob, and Rob's dad and mom) I think the photographer didn't know I was keeping my name because he kept making us shout "Kanes!" There's a reason people say "cheese" for pictures, it's uncompromising for pretty much anyone involved in the photo ;-) Except if you go to a vegan party, I suppose...
With Rob's family. Nick and Leah, on the far left, are expecting a daughter in the late fall, and Ian and Francine, on the far right, had wild plans to get hitched in Vegas next year (or Francine did anyway) but her mom has since vetoed that idea.
Rob and his mom.
The guests mingling under a miraculously blue sky. It poured like the end of the world until maybe half an hour before the wedding started, and it was sunny until the last guest came in for dinner, then it started raining again. Again, we had perfect timing and the rain stopped just after dinner and speeches, when we were ready for our first dance. Thank you, Mother Nature!
Cheers!
People had to stand up and sign a love song for us to kiss during dinner, and my aunt had brought an accordeon to accompany the singers. It was a lot of fun! Also a number of people gave speeches, and my uncles (who was MC'ing) invited Rob's brothers to say a few words...
They hadn't expected to have to speak, so their speech went something like, Ian:"Congratulations" *passing mic* Nick:"We're happy for you." *passing mic* Ian:"Good job!" That last one will probably be quoted for years to come. Also, their wedding card read: "Congratulations!, Nick. Good job!, Ian" and then in different coloured ink someone added "& Leah" under Nick's name, and "& Francine" under Ian's name.
The first dance, on Nothing Else Matters by Metallica. For something completely different we then danced with our parents on Stand by Me!
The dancing that followed. Francine was the life of the dance floor! She is in almost all our dancing photos in a variation of this pose.
Carl, Heather, Gab and Marie, having a good time. Notice Francine in the background.
My mom and my sister dancing. Jason, on the right, ate five of our giant cupcakes, then attempted to convince other people to eat as many as he did so he would not have to feel miserable on his own. He also went and crashed the other two weddings on the site with Nick, and reported that our wedding was by far the liveliest. We had our own wedding crashers ("Like in the movie! But real ones!", as my sister said.) They were "escorted" out by Marie's husband Ian when they tried to pretend they were at the party with Marie.
My mom and Rob. Air guitar...?
All in all we had a wonderful evening and we are so glad that so many people could come out and celebrate with us!
