These days I am reading
October Dreams - A Celebration of Halloween, a collection which features short stories, essays on Halloween history and entertainment, and various authors' favourite real-life Halloween memories. Some of it is really very good.
Ray Bradbury contributed a short story, a favourite memory and a poem, and evidently they stand out. The anthology is dedicated to him. Some of the material isn't that great; the memories are especially lacking in my opinion, though it is interesting to know what famous people do for Halloween (beyond, you know, Paris Hilton wore an even more revealing costume that last year and acted even more inapproprietly than last year!)
Pumpkin day is my favourite holiday of the year so I'm thouroughly enjoying the read. However, I missed Halloween this year and so I seem to have converted all my Halloween excitement into Christmas excitement. And so I am looking for a similar book, but with a Christmas theme instead.
Recommendations, anyone?
