take your toddler to work day?

So, this is why my mother-in-law is evil.  I took a new part-time job working as a test proctor on Saturdays.  The job is really easy, and I can even get some studying done once the examinees are all checked in and at their computer stations.  And Carolyn, the Evil One, watches Ethan while I'm there, or at least that's the arrangement.  But this week (only my SECOND week at the job) she "can't" do it because she is going to see some people and "good luck finding someone else!"  Like I don't NEED my job???  Seriously, if her ass hole son paid child support, maybe I wouldn't need to work THREE part-time jobs while going to school full-time and being the sole caretaker for a 2-year-old.  But I do.  And she begged me for the last two years to see more of Ethan (always with the stipulation that she didn't want to see more of me) and now that I've given her the opportunity - she bails on me!  And when I said "What about next weekend?" she was like, "Oh, it's all still up in the air.  I don't know if I'll be in town or not"  Stupid evil RV queen bitch!

Grrrrrrrrrrr.  And it's not like I was able to find another sitter.  No, my friend Nanny Sarah called to ask if I could watch her baby girl yesterday, and my teenage sitter Shannon has a "thing to go to" from 9 to 3.  I have to be at work starting at 7:30 am.

So now I'm going to take Ethan to work with me.  I'm bringing "Cars" and his portable DVD player and I'm going to stick him under my desk with some Goldfish and try to last out the morning, at least till I can call someone in to replace me.  Try to salvage my job.  Wish me luck.  Send her death threats.  Tell my boss it's not my fault (but I can't promise her it won't happen again, what with a promising reply like "it's all in the air" from my supposed sitter)  I love you all and will be laughing my ass off about this one day
