Update

I'm not writing a lot lately; life's been busy and slow at the same time. Still working on school, trying to get the cars fixed, cooking more (time consuming!!) and slowly cleaning/organizing the house. Also battling some major exhaustion lately, which sucks.

School - transcription is harder than I thought. The only thing worse than a doctor's dictation is his handwriting in a lot of cases. My tolerance for trying to decode slurred/rushed/abbreviated/mispronounced words is reall short right now, maybe an hour, so the going is slow beyond belief. Hopefully I'll be able to go faster as I get used to all the language, but for now it sucks.

Cars - Still trying to replace the alternator on the Fiero. We have to do half of it from the top, and half of it through the wheel well (remove splash guard, loosen and move tie rod) to get the damned thing out and back in again. It's a really nifty, compact design...but it's a bitch for repairs.

Cooking - Buying fresh meat every week is a great way to go. It means that I can't take the easy way out and just get fast food one day, because then the meat will go bad and it's a waste. It's also meaning some tasty leftovers for lunch, which is always good. I AM allowing one day for pizza or something per week, generally a Friday or Sunday since those are the tired and busy days respectively...so we still get to have our junk food fix. ;)

Cleaning - Finally got word back that our tool shed doesn't have a key. So Sweetie's going to look into what can be done to replace the lock so we do have a key, and can start moving some of our extra tools into the shed. We've got the fairly cheap hand tools in there already (shovels, rakes, etc.), but cleaning out the garage involves moving some really expensive but rarely needed things into the shed. And we can't finish the house until we finish the garage, so the catch 22 remains.
We're making progress on the fabrics though; I've finally caught up on 99% of the laundry, and I'll be putting everything away in dressers and cabinets and such tonight. The kitchen is about 90% done; I just need to finish unpacking about three half-finished boxes and get them out. I still haven't found the recipe book for my bread machine, so we're still doing the crappy store bought bread. :\

That's about it for now; hope everyone else is having a similarly uneventful time. :)
