Another boring one, as I'm still helping AMIL. Good news though, that's always a plus.
Her shot last week went well, and it seems to be helping. She's still really stiff from having an 8" needle stuck into her spine, but she says it should wear off by this weekend and we can get packing. ACTIVITY!! More precisely, activity not related to me mowing grass. I am VERY happy. (Although I WILL still have to mow grass.) :P
Secondly, and the reason she's FINALLY ready to start packing, is that she's found a realty/auction place that she likes. They'll list it as "For Sale" until she's ready to leave, then put it up for auction if it hasn't sold. And maintain the property once she leaves, which is REALLY impressive. I mean, I know EXACTLY how much work that is. Any furniture or other stuff she decides to leave behind they'll do as a moving sale rather than an auction (with the exception of big things like the tractor and truck), which minimizes the potential loss and amount of time spent on selling it. Most of the stuff she's leaving behind isn't really auction material, honestly...furniture, maybe some exercise equipment, nothing impressive.
I mowed the back yard again yesterday since the grass was getting long, and I remember how hard it was to do with the push mower once it got much higher. I'm still debating whether it's worth doing trim work with the push mower now, or waiting until I'm ready to tractor the rest of the grass (probably not for another week). On one hand, doing it now = easier because grass is shorter. On the other hand, it wasn't THAT hard before. Not compared to the back yard anyway. I'm also thinking I can wait on doing the push mower stuff until AFTER I tractor it this time, since I'm much more confident on the tractor now. Which will also reduce how much push-mower stuff there is to do. And in the process of writing all this, I have decided to wait on the trim work until after I see how much I can get with the tractor. :)
I'm looking forward to my trip to DC for my birthday, and now it looks like my Mom may be making a trip out here to visit. So I'm going to be getting all kinds of company, and it'll probably be nice for Debbie too. I mean, I'm not exactly talkative lately. I just don't feel inclined to tell her my life stories, and I think she's running out of her own. The last month is going to be interesting. *sigh*
Anyway. Off the computer and back to doing something that makes me more approachable.
