(no subject)
i thought my prospectus was due tomorrow, but it's not. so i'm using that as an excuse to be lazy tonight and soak in some deal or no deal.
I'm in my second week of my public school internship. Today went much better than last Wednesday. I was a nervous wreck last week. Well, i wasn't until i sat on the teacher's side of the table and had 3 kids on the other side arguing over who would go first. Doing therapy with a group is much different than individual therapy. It's distracting. You have to manage all of the kids while listening to one to be sure you hear the sounds you're eliciting. I thought the kids were going to be wild all day today after the first group came in. They were bouncing off the walls. The rest were much better though. I elicited almost 100 responses from each of the kids in one group. Normally I'm lucky to get 50. I really like being in the public school. And I adore the SLP I'm working with. She knows her stuff. I have learned so much from her in just two weeks. It's really nice to get a taste of what it's like working in the schools. I can only hope I'll get to work in a school like Taylorville Primary when I'm finally done with school.
That's about it. I'm boring. I'm wrapped up in school and Timmy...with a little bit of Cypress Inn in there. That's my life. It's good.
