Gabrielle sits cross-legged in the middle on her bed, her eyes focused on something in front of her. To the casual observer, she would simply appear to be staring into space. However, upon further examination one might notice the small collection of plates, speckled with the remnants of the day's meals, waiting on top of her dresser to be washed

*glances in thoughfully and clears her throat* S'cuse me. I'm performing a study of epic proportions for the name of science. Think I could interest you in participation? *and on closer inspection, there's a small grey cat on her shoulder*

*looks up and blinks* Er...I... sure. Why not?

*smiles at the cat, as she's a tremendous animal lover*

*quite solemnly* I'm testing the effects of cat therapy. My theory is, barring allergies, if you give someone a cat, they'll immediately feel better, no matter what the problem is or even if it's just a little bit. *holds the cat out ceremoniously*

... *slowly grins and takes the cat into her arms gently* Hey there, little one...

*looks up at Brynne* Cat therapy, huh?

[notahades]

*nods* Breaking news. The very latest. *and here she'll crack a grin* Her name's Polyhymnia.

Poly: *mews softly, tilting her head at the new person*

*smiles* Pretty name.

*coos at Poly and cuddles her gently* *holds her hand out for her to sniff*

She's named for the muse of hymns and eloquence. And in her slightly more esoteric aspect, muse of geometry, mime, meditation, and agriculture. *grins wryly*

Poly: *pauses, then sniffs cautiously -- she's the shyest of the cats*

*looks impressed* That's quite a namesake. *smile*

*smiles at Poly* Aww...you're a shy, sweet little thing, aren't you?

Her sisters are named after muses, too. Their mother's Mnemosyne, goddess of memory. My guardian liked irony.

Poly: *tilts her head, then mews decisively and curls up closer to her*

*just melts when Poly does that and cuddles her close* She's precious.

Poly: *purrs happily*

*faint grin* She's the least spoiled of the brood. 'Pomene, Clio, and 'Rania are close runners-up, but Poly beats them.

*pets her lovingly*

She's fantastic. Not like the prissy brat my sister has. *halfsmile*

Poly: *purrs a bit louder, contentedly*

*grins* You should see Erato. God, what an attention her. Her and 'Sichore -- she's the youngest, she thinks she has a right. Thalia's pretty bad, too.
