Riptide Episode Father's Day Yap and Caps
Riptide/3 Men and a Baby Crossover anyone... (Aside: 3 Men and a Baby is at least as slashy as this show, huh? Anyhow, back to the pretties!)
I don't like that in this episode Nick & Cody are quite scrappy with each other. And I don't like the writer making Murray's main role in the first half of the ep being to butt in when they're scrapping and make comments. Neither helpful or useful.
Fortunately, about half-way thru, the writer removes head from ass and suddenly gives us YAY!Murray, all competent, wonderful and solving the case. And that, fortunately, gives the boys something to do other than just gaze at the baby and bitch at each other. *sigh* However, it's fairly slashy bitching at each other so I am relatively happy! I prefer slashy snuggling to slashy bitching, however.
Anyway, on with the ep:
Father, he wants to kill me! It seems the priest knows what's going on however... And Cheryl (Sheryl?) leaves baby at the church and takes off.
Murray is testing cellular communications equipment for a company in... different... shapes. The boys are not completely impressed. Nick has been beset with an Elmer Fudd phone in the Mimi!
I am wondering why they're on first name terms with the priest... Are they all Catholic?
No money! But they're happy to work for nothing? Do we have three good Catholic boys amongst us? (That increases the guilt potential 12-fold, huh?) But Cody really doesn't look like Catholic stock to me. Nick, yes. I'd be very surprised if Nick wasn't brought up Catholic. Maybe he made Cody convert? *VBG*
Reserving judgement on Murray!
Nick wants the baby. Nick loves kids. Nick is also not scared of little little babies, which is interesting. Most single guys are. Where'd he get experience with little babies, huh?
Cody looks both surprised and scared that Nick wants to take the baby. He opens his mouth and closes it several times! *VBG* He is scared of baby, and he's worried that Nick's not. LOVE
Oh, but now Nick's got baby, CODY wants baby. Hee!
Oh, and baby stops crying for Cody. LOL Cody is highly delighted that he stopped her crying. Nick: Once I warmed her up for you! I love my boys...
Cody wants to play mommies and daddies with baby!
Murray: Have no fear because the Riptide Babysitting Detective Agency is at your service. Hee!
And Nick actually looks sick. Once again: Nick knows enough about babies to not be scared of them, and to know that looking after them for an indefinite period is not something you want to do. (Well, maybe something some people want to do. Not them.)
Cody is having a fit about driving safely because of baby in the car. Cody is fussing! Murray is having the best time! Katie isn't! Nick and Cody are having a Mum and Dad fight! Bears! Bunnies! Note: Cody had a bear when he was little. He loved the bear. (Cute!)
Cody thinks he should take a childcare course. Not because of the baby. Just in general. LOVE the look Nick gives him. Is Cody still thinking about giving Nick babies...?
Cody & Nick are cuddling and Cody's talking about taking single-mother courses while Murray's talking to the chicky.
Then they come to talk to the chicky and Cody's telling her how the baby likes being held. Nick is all It's fine, she knows what she is doing.
Our sweet married boys...
Cody is having a beautiful time with the baby. Nick: I'm gonna get you one of those for your birthday, Cody. LOVE
Cody: Oh-oh. Katie just threw up! And he looks suitably terrified.
Nick: He has that effect on a lot of women. Hee!
(I think Nick's a little jealous at how much attention Cody's paying to the baby. Also, HE wants the baby himself but doesn't want to show it)
Cody gets smart about computers too! Nick is feeling got at. Poor Nick! *loves* Nick!

But then Cody comes running in with baby panicking that she's too hot and just LOOK at him and Nick fussing together over her! And that time Nick's right and Cody lets him be right and we are happy!

Now that's interesting (it is a very Nick sentiment though. I love my Nick)
Nick: Any church that has rules that stop you finding people like that has stupid rules. (And he's pretty heated about it. Of course he is. Love Nick. Black and white). Maybe Nick wasn't brought up Catholic? And Cody trying to stop him, saying "Hey Nick..."

They might be better leaving baby with Roboz than Dooley! Oh well.

They did better at fighting that time. I know the second one's blurry, but it's a nice "I just have to grab you while I give you the gun" moment.
Fighting the bad guys worked out ok, but Cody had a little more trouble with the chicky...
But oh NO! Bad guys took baby! Lots of pretty while they figure out mom has to be bait.
Oh, and Murray can perform DNA tests with a microscope and a drop of blood *VBG*

Cheryl and baby are departing for elsewhere. Boys are videoing them. They are so married. That was such a mum and dad with the camera exchange! Love! nick's worried if Cody's got it up the right way. getting the baby in the shot. LOVE
