Riptide Pimp For smallfandomfest
Remember Riptide? If not, feast your eyes. Riptide is a TV show which first came to our hungry eyes in 1984. It ran for 3 seasons and 58 episodes. All are now available on DVD for the discerning viewer.
"Why Riptide?" you ask. Well, Riptide is canonically a slash-fest. Think 3 incredibly hot men: Nick Ryder (Joe Penny), Cody Allen (Perry King - recently played William Ellison for Sentinel fans) and Murray Bozinsky (Thom Bray) living and working together on a small (ish) boat. Nick and Cody share a room.
They're Vietnam vets who decide to open a detective agency. As well as the boat, they have a 'Vette (with flames painted on the side!), a speedboat, a pink helicopter (the Screaming Mimi), a GMC Jimmy truck and of course the Roboz ( an orange robot invented by Murray). They are always incredibly worried about each other getting *hurt*.
The shows themselves are a lot of fun - plenty of action, lots of eye candy (boys and girls), and happy endings (nearly always).
There are 2 main schools of thought amongst the LJ fandom - OTP Nick/Cody and OT3. All possible pairings are explored and welcomed. (Maybe not Roboz? You'd have to check!) Gen fic exists elsewhere on the net as well. (And occasionally here).
