Diana Gabaldon wrote a 1700s gay detective? Why did I not know this? All I know about her work is that she wrote that Highlander crap Saga that my mother loves. Sounds like I need to check that out.

I'm with you on the saga *g* I hate it with passion. But Lord John is fab. They're new - latest one 6 months old, first one a year or two?

They all have "Lord John" in the title. And they are really something, well i think so anyway. Quite raunchy in places, too.

I'll have to check the library, but I don't have much hope of finding them. It's a small town library, and they have a tiny, tiny, miniscule section of English books. :(

But there is always Christmas... in six months... *grumbles*

Replying to your other comm here cos we're probly getting a bit OT for smallfandomfest LOL...

Fair enuff with the fanfic... although the show's cacnonically so slashy it may not make a lot of difference! :) They are so, so pretty.

I think I've read all Martha's books. Maybe one or two I've missed. I just *love* Richard and Melrose *sigh*

Yes, doomed. Any woman Richard gets with is always either a murderer, dies, or dumps him. Or all of the above!

Melrose *sometimes* has better luck; but he seems so unenhusiastic about it all. And you're so right about Agatha!

Andrew Vachss is the *best*! Do you have a favorite? I love the whole Burke series, but of the non-Burke books, Shella and Two Trains Running are my favorites; I re-read them at least once a year.

Hey! Yes he seriously rocks. I haven't read the non-Burke books, and only about 6 Burke books - they're not easy to get in NZ I have to get them from Amazon.

I've never found one I don't like yet :)
