A big 'thank you' to randomly helpful grad students

Sweeeeet. Completely randomly I managed to get rather big questions answered about grad school and scholarships and whatnot today. YEEEES!

So for like at least 2.5 years now I've been trying to sort out exactly how a certain type of scholarship called an NSERC works. Basically if you have an NSERC scholarship you dramatically increase your chances of getting into grad school. They are rather tricky to get, and there's a LOT LOT LOT of confusing and pointless info on the official page. But then....it IS a government page after all, so I guess that's hardly surprising. Anyhoo, one of the other TAs today preeeetty much answered almost every single question I've ever had about these stupid things, because she apparently had to go through a really nasty rigamarole with them when she was applying for grad school at SFU. The end result is that I now have a really good idea of how to get an NSERC and how they work and what they're for. I am excited. Not only that, but it turns out she knows some people at one of the universities I was looking at for grad studies the other day, and she offered to put me in touch with some students there. YAAAAAAY!

A productive day I am thinking. With luck it'll stay that way...I have to go home and try to build a fake birdie.

Yes, you heard that right.

I have to try and outsmart my fishies. Last time they was too clever for me. ^_^;;
