There seems to be a clash of cultures here between that represented by olden_fan, sc_fossil, and byslantedlight (as well as Timemidae over on Dreamwidth and krisserci5 on Discord), and that of the commenters on Reddit (to whom I recognize blondie_54 is sympathetic). I'm not sure what to do about this. I'm trying to approach it maturely, but I admit it is feeding the anxiety I was already struggling with this week.
I may attempt a compromise (which, of course, may satisfy no one). I don't think I have been doing anything wrong, and I'm not going to change existing posts. Going forward, though, I may stop writing up the fics that I don't like at all while continuing to write mixed reviews in addition to the wholly positive ones.

It is the discovery that I seem to be violating what the Redditors view as community norms that is causing me to rethink. I cited you as an example that not all members of my fandoms disagree with those. I wanted to acknowledge that, while I do think there is a clash of fandom cultures at play, the lines aren’t perfectly sharp.

They never will be. The world would be a very boring place if we all thought the same way. Our differences are what makes us human. I may have unintentionally reflected Redditors views (and I know I sound ignorant, but I have no idea who Redditors are 🙂) but it wouldn't stop me reading your reviews. I like them. I like that you take the time to read so many, whether you consider them good or bad, and I thank you for that.
Don't feel you have to compromise, keep doing what you're doing. To compromise is to change the essence of who you are.
Redditors are users of Reddit, which is basically a platform with a zillion different forums on different topics. I sometimes visit the fanfic forums there.
I’m glad you enjoy my reviews. I enjoy writing them (though I enjoy writing negative ones quite a bit less, honestly).
As for anxiety, I probably shouldn’t have brought that up. I think I wanted to explain my involvement with this question to anyone who thinks I’m obsessing. Really, though, while this issue is providing grist for my anxiety, I think I would be concerned about it anyway. I read from a variety of fandoms, so I want to be sensitive to the different expectations that may exist in those different fandoms.
