It was heartbreaking. But I won't talk about that.
WHAT AN UNBELIEVABLE AND THRILLING SEASON THAT WAS. No one expected anything great from the Laker team. Everyone thought it was just going to be another one of those seasons. But to everyone's surprise, LA beat the Suns on opening night. And after that, more Ws followed. They kept beating teams over .500 and soon, they were part of the elite. Bench improvement. Andrew Bynum stepping up. Kwame getting traded. Trevor Ariza joining the team. Pau Gasol becoming a Laker. And, Kobe being Kobe. All these things made the Lakers the team to beat.
The Western Conference race was crazy. But in the end, the Lakers were on top. The Playoffs began and in no time, they swept the Nuggets, won over the Jazz and dethroned the defending champs.
All I can say is, the Lakers will crush your bones into dust next season. Andrew will come back, Kobe will continue to get better, and with the experience that this young team had gained throughout the season, the Lakers will be better than ever.
