The sweet timber
Of soft song,
Meant to guide
You on your way
And show you right
From wrong.

The slight trill
Of liquid voice,
Meant to lead
Your shaky hand
And help you with
Your choice.

The regal tone
Of golden light,
Meant to comfort
Your aching heart
And chase away
The night.

The pure sound
Of satin wings,
Meant to tell you
All the words
That daily,
My heart sings.
