I sort of really want to write 24 AU fic, where post-S6 Jack is recruited (read: blackmailed) to take on a special assignment in DC, and upon arrival he discovers it's a POW house arrest situation where he must play the roles of prison guard (to very indignant BUT STILL ALIVE Assad) and prisoner of the State simultaneously.
Wtf, self. :( Way to prioritize your artistic expression, pairings and fandoms. Someone slap my wrist or give me an Indian burn until I draw Michael/Ryan, House/Wilson, Belloq/Indy, or any other pairing someone might actually appreciate.
But oh, Jack/Assad. Jassad? Jackass! Their love was so star-crossed and NEVER MEANT TO BE. I still ship it, despite the obvs. difficulty of them having a fulfilling beyond the grave relationship.
