I saw the 1:50 showing (but really, it was the 2:30 showing. SO MANY COMMERCIALS/TRAILERS) of The Brothers Grimm today. The movie had potential. It really, really did. Unfortunately, the editors, or the director, or SOMEONE had severely botched ideas on how to make a decent film, so the only thing that remotely kept my interest was the interplay between Will (Matt Damon) and Jacob (Heath Ledger), because their brotherly squabbles were incredibly adorable and slash-worthy. Might I also add, that while I was totally rooting for Jake to kiss Will at the end (OH IT WAS SO VERY CLOSE), Will bothered me immensely throughout most of the film with his high and mighty attitude. Leave your brother alone! He was only doing what he thought was right! Although, admittedly, what a TARD for buying "magic beans". And Will, you just need to learn how to GET OVER THINGS, or at least learn to keep your mouth shut for more than a few seconds. You're not that clever, really. Your poor brother. I KNOW YOU LOVE HIM. STOP LASHING OUT WITH YOUR SEXUALLY-REPRESSED INNER AGGRESSION. *sobs*
Edit: Yes, I know, their childhood. But what's that between two in love brothers? In other words, oh my lord I complain too much. XDD
Now, prior to viewing this movie, I definitely considered myself to be anti-Heath Ledger. I hated him in The Patriot, despised him in A Knight's Tale, and didn't give much of a damn for his character in 10 Things I Hate About You. However, I simply adored him in The Brothers Grimm. He was naive, and charming, and looked surprisingly hot with a mussed brown top and facial hair. What is happening to me! I must be losing my mind! I suppose this is preparing me for Brokeback Mountain, which, thanks to
crimson_stained, I very much want to see now. *sobs*
