two days ago my car got towed again. i was bummed out.
i had work the next day.
so i come home from that semi-long day at work...
while lazily lying down on my twin sized bed, my mom comes into my room. now, my mom very rarely comes into my room. when she does, it is either to have a "serious talk" or because she misses me. (you see, i also very rarely see my mom due to our colliding schedules) anywho, she walks in and simply lies down next to me.
i tell adrian i'd call him back. so i just start talking to my mom. i could tell she had just woken up, and was probably going to be getting ready for work soon. so the light conversation continues.
a few weeks earlier, i had gone shopping with krekker. i had been thinking about my upcoming birthday present possibilities. then i saw these absolutely gorgeous eye glasses by via spiga. i had been, after all, in dire need of both a new perscription and updated frames. now, these via spiga glasses fit my rather round face very well, and complimented the slant of my asian eyes. however, they were been offered at the hefty price of nearly 300 dollars, which would not even include the price of the lens itself- another 100 dollars or so. i figured that is still a negotiable price, especially for my eighteenth birthday. so, i tell my mom.
now, back to the room. we're lying there, and she says,
"honey, what do you want for your birhtday?"
--"i told you already mom... those glasses."
-she looks nearly expressionless.
"what if i can't afford those right now"
--"then that's fine mom. i don't really care. anything would be fine with me." --"do you have a second choice?"
-- "not really. i havent really thought about it. why.. do you?"
--"kind of"
--"like what?"
--" i dont know. something"
theres a slight pause in the conversation. the kind where you would assume a topic change of some sort.
suddenly my dad walks in, but seeing the both of us there, he assumes we want privacy.
he politely says hello, and leaves.
my mom then gets up from the bed, and nonchalantly says she wants to show me something.
we go downstairs, she opens the garage, and there's this brand new sliver celica in front of me.
suddenly both of my parents are smiling.
"what about something like THIS?!" my mom exclaims.
i was shocked and confused. "WHAT!??!?!"
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" they said.
i couldnt believe it. i CANT beleive it.
a new car. holy shit.
still...i'm gonna miss that old red integra.
lots of memories in that bad boy.
