Last night I sat down to write, with no intention of really going online at all. I was going to leave my IM up so I could chat w/folks if anyone dared to find me interesting, but no real checking of email, no obsessive checking FF.net, etc. and so on.
So what happened? NOTHING! Fat lot of nothing I tell you. It wasn't writer's block so much as writer's-non-existence. At least in a non-ficcish sort of way. I got a post out for MM, so clearly there was some creative juice flowing last night, and I updated my HP story (which is complete for the people who are not reading :P ), and I got in some good chatting...but my goal was a flub! Actually the chatting was part of the goals of the night, so I guess that went fine, but nothing story-ish happened. Even the story that I finally decided/realized is not fannish but an actual story, gave me nothing. Nothing.
So does anyone have any ideas? Any at all? Prompts, challenges, random scenery, my strange and quirkily prosaic take on things that someone wants to offer me? B/c, in the same vein, I meant to not be online for lunch (now) but meant to write. 'Cept I have nothing to write! Argh.
Right...so...ideas, scenery, prompts, challenges...all of a non-ficcish variety unless you're willing for your fic idea to turn into a short story. Short stories which I am planning to post online, so no worries re seeing them.
Help?
