Okay, so I'm a little late...so late that I've actually finished one of the fics I was going to list here, but that's a good thing, right? Right. Anywho, fics under the cut...

Buffy/Sliders cross: All Killer, No Filler
"But Quinn! It's stealing!" Wade Wells screamed over the roar of the crowd fleeing the Californian quake.

"Miss Wells," Professor Arturo shouted, "if the choice is between taking this vehicle and our lives . . ."

"Girl, just get in the van!" Rembrant said, pushing Wade in. "How long we got, Q-ball?"

Quinn Mallory checked the device in his hand. "Just a few more seconds. Think you can get this thing started, Remy?"

"Sure as my name is Rembrant Brown!" The earth shifted under their feet. "C'mon baby, start for the Crying Man."

"The key's in the glove compartment." They all jumped at the new voice. "If you were wondering." A small man, about Wade's height, in natty clothes was sitting in the back of the van with a guitar.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Full Moon series
Breath of heaven, hold me together. Be forever near me

Oz was still standing at the landing when LoAnne, back from wherever she went when she went off alone, came upstairs. “They’re beautiful, aren’t they,” she said in her strangely husky voice.

“Yes.”

Eyes closed and face upturned as if it was the sun on her face, LoAnne said, “Sometimes I wish I shared just one part of their voice.” She took a deep breath, leaned over and kissed Oz chastely before going up to their room.

He was still on the landing when the trio finally came down.

untitled
“Let me go.” She said it slowly, enunciating carefully, so that he later couldn't say he hadn't under stood her

“No.” His voice showed strain hers had not.

“Pretty please,” she deadpanned, “with freshly killed dead things on top?”

“Buffy.”

“Oz.”

Circle of Three
Witches and were’s -- Oz thought they were witches and were’s but he couldn't be sure -- cleared space for them. Angel didn't seem to notice the unusual behavior. “Hey man, how’d you --” he stopped mid-sentence and followed Angel’s eyes. Below in the center of the dance floor three women turned, lifted their hands and writhed in unison. Around them all activity centered, both men and women drawn in by their seduction. Together they cleared a space between them into which the occasional follower was admitted.

They were a blonde, a brunette and a redhead. “God,” Oz whispered reverently, “I’ve never seen them up close.”

Angel looked at him. “You know who they are? Are they part of the Circle.”

“Man, they are the circle.”

Emily
Emily turned only to find, instead of backing away and gracing her with a lopsided smile as was his wont, that they were mere breaths apart. “W-William?” A kind of struggle seemed to go on in his blue eyes. Their side of the family inherited those dark and light looks. Her own mother was raven-haired with green eyes. “You walk in worlds the others can’t begin to imagine. You know that, don’t you.”

With a hiss, he turned away from her. Fists clenched at his sides, Emily heard her cousin mutter “I won’t. I won’t.”

Concern spurred her. “William?” Tentatively she touched his shoulder. She felt dirt underneath her smooth, aristocratic fingers and didn’t understand. His clothes were entirely dirty. “William were you attacked in the street? You should have said something instead of letting me prattle on and ask you to undo my choker.”

New Arms
“Willow Rosenberg will you do me the great pleasure of marrying me?”

Everyone was utterly silent waiting for her answer. Angel beamed up at her but Willow found herself inexplicably hot.

As unexpectadly as it began it was over. Willow pushed through her friends and ran, as fast as she could in heels, out the ballroom.

working title: poe song
She was the closest thing to an alpha female many of their - small - pack knew. For some she was the only female of their kind they had known. Ever. And so she ws the most coveted, the most feared, the most precious of them all. Certainly the pack that followed them believed the same, with “covet” at the top of their list. Her mother had been like that, Oz remembered. Had had that same effect. Marley was nothing like her, at least not on the surface. The two women had grown up far too differently and had known very little about each other. Oz sometimes wondered how much Marley remembered of her mother. Often right after the pack had just fought for their lives, blood hot and dripping from their muzzles, however, so Oz tended to refrain from asking her.

There were moments when he was afraid that the woman he remembered would not be the same woman she remembered. And so he refrained.

Then there were moments, usually when his body was curled protectively around Marley’s, sometime in the gloaming of half-consciousness when he wanted to recreate her mother for her in any way he could, with words he didn’t know how to express. He wanted to make her understand how special she was. To understand that the wonder that lit and burned in other people’s eyes came from the wonder and love that had first burned in her mother’s. For her mother. Not because she was that now-rare thing - a female werewolf. Not because she was Oz’s daughter.

Primitive
Following his aunt down, Oz felt all of twenty-two. It was a nice change. Comforting even. Around everyone else he had to be older, wiser. He was the laconic, sage Oz. Their Dalai Lama. But not here. Aunt Judith didn’t have time for all that foolishness.

“We’re leaving again soon, aren’t we?” Mara asked

Oz looked up at Mara from his guitar. There was a song tickling his fingertips that couldn’t quite work itself down to the strings. “What makes you say that?”

“We’ve been traveling together for a long time now, Oz. I know. I was kinda hoping we could stay her a little longer but . . .” She looked around the room longingly as if their bags were already packed. “So, where are we going?”

Save Tonight
“No! Don’t go in there! Can’t you see he’s right behind the door?!” Crunch, crunch, crunch. “Look in the mirror you idiot! I can’t believe she’s such an idiot, can you?”

Gunn rolled his eyes. “No, I can’t.”

“Watch, he’s gonna pop out and she’s gonna do something stupid like run to the basement or the attic or, ooh, probably the roof. I bet they don’t have an attic for her to run to. I bet--”

“Fred, you’re not gonna talk through the whole movie, are you?”

untitled
Full moon tonight, Oz. I hear you calling. And though this is as far apart as we’ve ever been, I don’t think we’ve ever been closer. Creatures of the night, you and me.

Now who does that sound like to you?

I told you once, Oz, that it wasn’t only Willow you left the first time. You were as much our friend as Willow.

La Femme Nikita: As In

“Oh!” Rebecca cried out as she nearly bit her tongue through, trying to catch herself on a patch of ice masquerading as dry ground. It was the worst winter she could remember, following behind the hottest summer she could remember.

“Not that that means anything,” she muttered crossly to herself, full attention back on the ground at her feet. With every other person, Parisian or otherwise, making the same comment, however, she could be sure it wasn’t just her own faulty memory working against her again.

Messy (technically the same story as "As In" but this is the never-to-be-completed original)
“C’mon…kitchen’s this way. What can I get ya? We got coffee an’ a bunch of different teas. I bought some hot chocolate from the chocolaterie around the corner. Ya know, down the Rue de Saffron?”

He nodded, following her down the hall, out of the little foyer and into the kitchen. “I know it.”

“Betcha know a lot of the area, buskin’ an’ all,” she said, indicating that he should take a seat at the kitchen island. “Lord, I sound like a love-struck teeny bobber. Forgive me.”

“You are forgiven,” he said graciously.

“So…” She turned away from him. “Michael, right?”

Smallville: Holiday Wishing
She didn’t answer, but gently pressed him back into the bed. Which, now that he had more of his senses about him, didn’t feel right either. “You’ve got a pretty big lump on your head, Lex. You’re probably still confused. Although I must admit, having you tell me I’m dead is a bit unsettling. I told your father we should take you to the hospital right away but he insisted that Kent men were made of sterner stuff. That’ll be the last time I let him get away with that one. Why don’t you try to get some rest while we pull the truck around.”

Kent men?

Martha smoothed her hand over Lex’s head and along his faint eyebrows. “I’m sorry it had to be like this, sweetheart,” she murmured, “but we’ve had worse, haven’t we?. Merry Christmas.” She dropped a kiss on his forehead before leaving.

Bald Man and the Ice Princess
Bruce turned to go. “Hopefully this isn’t he only suit of clothes Isis is buying you, Lex. You need to make sure she knows you’re not cheap.”

He was out of the fitting room before Lex could come back with a proper retort.

Signore Castallano wisely kept his own counsel.

Take a Look at me Now
And I see the way that Pete looks at me: sometimes with pity and sometimes, I think, with love. And it’s a shame, no a travesty, that I can’t look at him the same way, because I wonder if he sits at his desk in The Torch waiting for me to smile at him . . .because that’s all he can ever hope for.

And I wonder . . .I wonder if sometimes he hates Clark too for being unable to see me, and making me unable to see anyone else.

Harry Potter: untitled
With her pointed face, short dark curls, pale skin and almond shaped green eyes, it wasn't surprising that she had been asked - on more than one occasion - what she was. There was no way she could be a pureblood, their eyes said as they asked it. Not with those features. There seemed to be more crosses running around than ever, or, at the very least, more people admitting and claiming to be crossed.

And she wasn't pureblood. But she wasn’t part non-human either. Besides, who had ever heard of a dark-haired Veela or five-foot nothing Giantess? The centaurs thought humans were beneath them. Goblins would rather eat one than look at one crosswise - unless you had something valuable you wanted to put in their keeping. And elves… It wouldn't even cross the most imaginative mind to come up with that one.

Veronica Mars: Elias
They say that, sometimes, it takes a pair of fresh eyes to get a clear picture of the situation you’re in. That an impartial, outside opinion will show you the very point you’ve been missing all along.

At least that’s what they say. Somehow, though, I don’t think whoever “they” are had high school in mind when they were being all deep and philosophical. Because in the world of high school when someone says “fresh eyes” all the sharks hear is “fresh meat.”

And the waters of Neptune High are more fin than H2O.

---

N'Sync (don't ask): Dream a Crazy Dream
“Yes? Sheryl?”

“Yes. Justin Timberlake?”

She thought she heard a muffled, very muffled, scream from Melissa and wondered if he had picked up on it. “Yeah,” he drawled. She rolled her eyes.

“Um, assuming I believe that you really are Justin Timberlake -- which I might add, I have no reason to -- may I ask what you’re doing calling me at the awful hour of--” she looked at the oversized LCD display on her alarm. “What the. . .! It’s after ten!”

“Well, you were obviously up,” she heard amusement in his voice.

Farscape: Earth's Children
“And what exactly do you call that?!” Aeryn Sun asked, angrily getting out of the prowler on unsteady legs.

“A landing?”

Aeryn scowled at the human in front of her. “If you had been a Peacekeeper surely someone would have killed you by now and put me out of my misery.”

Roswell: Time, See What's Become of Me
Everything had been screwed from the moment they’d had that freaked-out dream. For no stupid reason he’d become hyper-aware of her -- even though she had Alex and he had Maria…if either of them would let there human would-be-lovers in. But somehow the idea oddly felt like betrayal.

Not that Isabel seemed to notice. If anything it was like her cold shoulder had gotten downright icy. It wasn’t as if he had wanted to have those dreams. Was it his fault they had been engaged way back forever ago? Like it even mattered…

Tin Man: In the Shadow of the Mountain
“So the effects will be slower acting on you. Hmm. I’m guessing that by this time tomorrow you’ll be in worse straits than Captain Cain was before DG and I were able to help him.”

“And you didn’t see fit to say anything?” The words were out of Cain’s mouth before even realized they were in his head.

He could feel the princess on his left shrink while the one on his right seemed to swell. DG hit him. “Cain!”

Letter Read
Course you’re frustrated, kid. And mad enough to spit. Do it, too, if someone gets close enough.

I also know the OZ’s got a long way to go before it heals. Attempts on Azkadellia’s life are part of it. Not that it’s right. I still say we shoulda hanged the bastard that tried to shoot her from the wall.

X-Men: Little Wing5 (working title)
Nodding, Cheval said, “I think you’ll like them. I think it will be a good opportunity to make new contacts…inspect new merchandise.” He met Remy’s eyes across the table before picking up his fork and steak knife again. “You may want to bring your niece, too. If she’s available.”

Remy had followed Cheval’s lead and his fork was midway to his mouth when he replied, “Pourquoi?”

“Oh I bet my friends would find your niece as enchanting as I would. I’m sure many of them will be bring their own children…nieces…nephews.”

Three on Three
High up on the left gate-pillar, Cyclops, ignoring her strange appearance for the moment, touched the side of his glasses. The red laser that shot out was meant to stun the girl -- had she not pitched forward into a roll, out of range. “Cara, we haven’t killed your sister,” he called out.

“Then why’d you just shoot at me!”

Standing up behind her, Bobby shouted, “Maybe ‘cause you just tried to impale me?!”

She rounded on him. “I’ll do better than try, Ice Boy.”

“It’s IceMan!”

“Bobby pay attention,” Scott called. Of all the times for a fit of vanity…

He turned just in time to watch the ice around Cara’s hands shatter. Claws fully extended she leapt at him.

Both Cyclops and Bobby took aim at her. She twisted in midair, veering off to the left. “What the--!”

LOTR: untitled scene
“They look at us funny.”

“They’ve never seen fraternal twins. That tall one-”

“They’re elves, they’re all tall.”

“The men aren’t that tall.”

“Taller than you.”

“I’m sixteen.”

“Hardly matters.”

“Oh ye- Look!” he snapped, stopping them before they could really get going.
