how can I...

I finally get a weekend off! =D I'm going home tomorrow for a joint birthday celebration (my aunt's and mine) and coming back late Sunday (stupid work on Monday) I'm more excited than I usually am because my uncle Michael is coming from BC along with my little cousin Lindsay, who is adorable. It should be good for going home.

I got another raise. I love my bosses for not being cheap. It was only 50 cents more, but whatever. Now I need to figure out if/when I can keep working during school since I won't have the car anymore. I'm hoping the greyhound will be a viable option because I know there's one that goes out that way. When they talked to me about it I was actually really stressed. I think I had a panic attack that day because I left on a walk & couldn't remember what I'd done before I left the kennel, and that heavy despair came again (only this time it was mainly hopelessness, not fear). In any case, I'm slowly getting things done that need doing. I'm still extremely freaked out about leaving here (leaving my roommates) but at the same time excited about this new house. I'm sure things will work out anyway, like they always do.

Speaking of work, I answered the kennel phone the other day & the guy on the other end was noticeably upset. His dog was supposed to be arriving that day for boarding and he called from the vet's to say she was having seizures & that they were going to euthanize her. It was terrible to hear a stranger so broken like that. Once I was off the phone, all I could think of was that poor man losing his dog suddenly like that and having to call the kennel to tell us why they wouldn't be coming. I kept brushing the dog I was with and tried not to cry.

I went back to the doctor today. All my bloodwork came back normal, including all the nutritional stuff I had done - calcium, protein, iron, etc so I'm really happy about that. I expected him to say my iron was at least a bit lower than usual due to my job - last summer when I worked at the other kennel I was working shorter days and the iron levels in my blood did drop by the end of summer, although not enough to be anything serious. I'm really happy to know that I'm able to stay healthy while eating vegan & working such a physically demanding job. Anyway, I got the requisition for the ultrasound & have to make an appointment for it. Hopefully this issue will either just go away, or they'll figure out what it is and then make it go.

I also went to the bank today & asked them about student lines of credit. I'm pretty sure that regardless of what I do, I won't be getting OSAP (I should know better by now anyway that they won't give me enough, if any money) So I'm considering doing that, it seems reasonable and it would be great to not have to worry about money for once during school. I still plan on hitting up the food bank & doing what I can to keep the bills low in the new house. I also bought the tiniest slicker brush for Scampi and gave her a good brushing. Her coat is all nice and smooth now (well, except for the parts where she's still shedding) She seemed to sort of like it. She's a pretty tolerant bunny really, in spite of her rabbitude. The other day I actually took off the end attachment from the vacuum and tried to vacuum the tufts of fur off her, haha...she wasn't even scared, but kind of annoyed. She's so cute. I can't believe she's over 2 years old now. I'm hoping to give her run of the house when I move, at least when I'm there to supervise her, although she usually doesn't get into anything. There will be alot more space in my attic room anyway. I need to call the landlord to sort out the lease. I hope I can get a larger bed now that I'll have the room for it...I've been using the bedframe from when I was 3 this year. It works, but it'd be nice to have some furniture for my room that isn't childish. lol.

Anyway, Jill and I are making up an X-Files drinking game so as to make a fort tonight to get trashed in while we watch it. Oh christ I will miss her when I leave. I'm sure we'll have X-files dates and whatnot anyway. So, off to drink and watch. The truth is out there....we'll drink till Mulder & Scully find it (which may be never...come looking for me if I haven't been around in a few days)
