CSI notes on 5x14 and 5x15

Mar 08, 2005 13:50

Since RL has held me in a vise in February, I missed pretty much everything. I don't particularly want to go back, so I decided to just summarize the skipped episodes quickly. I wasn't in the mood to pick up on things, and it shows in the summary. So let's get it over with:

Note: I am spoiled for CSI, and I'm speculating spoilers in this recap, so skip it if that bothers you. In that case: please tell me about it! I am writing these not only for me, and if noone wants to be spoiled, I can hold back on the spoiler speculation, no problem.

Unbearable

I only just noticed the wordplay in the title. *g* It's probably the best thing that can be said about the episode. :) Otherwise, it was mostly true to its title.

There was definite intention on the writers' part to rile up us G/S shippers. Griss is now openly flirting with Sofia, and we are supposed to think that Sara is jealous.

The only hope I still have is that they can't play it out the way they originally intended to, because Louise Lombard is pregnant and can't stay for the whole season.

G/S-wise, there was mention and tension, but nothing to enjoy about it:

g-s-meter: 3

King Baby

I originally thought (from what I had read) the episode was about child abuse. Fortunately that was not the case. But there was nothing else interesting to me in the episode.

Sara was in all of two scenes, and Griss got to spout off a few platitudes about oedipal patterns.

Cath bungled another case. :) It's not something that reflects bad on her supervision skills, she could have left that camera there without being supervisor. It's going to play into her demotion, though, I'll bet. I think she will not be a supervisor much longer.

Let's forget the episode quickly. It's not hard:

g-s-meter: 1

I will do a proper review again for the next episode, "Big Middle". I haven't seen it yet, and not read any spoilers for it either, so I'm looking forward to that. You can expect a review in about a week.
