I had heard about this (or a similar thing before) but that was for Chrome. Nice to hear that there is some for Firefox as well.
Still I hesitate to install it. Can you please tell me - when you use it, is there any indication that the picture is displayed with this programm?
Of course I would love to see all the pictures that have been lost in the internet, but I am still in the progress of uploading all of mine and changing links, and I am afraid that with this programm I will not be able to see anymore which of my pictures still needs to be fixed. When I go to an old thread and do the "oh no, this one is still old" you know?
I used to have a programm for youtube that played videos that otherwise were blocked in Germany, and it always informed me that "this video had been unlocked by Proxtube" so I wonder if there is something similar here or not.

I'd heard about another addon, but it doesn't work anymore with the new Firefox. (Or maybe it didn't work with the old one, either, I couldn't get it to work at all.) This is the only one that worked for me.

There is no such feature, as far as I could tell. You would have to disable the extension to see whether it fixed something or not.
Have you heard the latest Photobucket news? Some weeks ago they got a new boss and back pedaled. They installed new plans which are much cheaper than the 400 Dollars a year. If they had done this right at the beginning, more people would have been willing to pay but now they left and I doubt they will come back.
But, more important, they made the pictures visible again! I don't know for how long it will last, but at the moment my old pics are there. So for now I will upload my new ones to a new page, but will not re-upload any old ones. This does not seem to make the news much so I wanted to let you know! Although we don't know yet if they will block them again if they see people are not returning. Would have been fair to only ask money for new pictures though, not those that were uploaded over ten years. All those forums that were dead.
A lot of people also deleted their pics and closed their account, but I left mine, hoping they might think it over.
Somehow it's made its way to me through the grape vine, yes. I am not sure if I've disabled the fix extension manually, or if it did that by itself. It was very useful while it lasted.
I don't care one way or another about Photobucket's pricing scheme, and I hope everyone who has used them has now found something equivalent (but better).
