I just got a notification that someone liked an LJ journal entry of mine. (I cannot see who it was, either, since neither the notification mail nor the statistics page show that information

I don't like the like feature either. And hmm, I still see it. If it persists, need to do something about my layout once I have the energy. If I ever "like" a post of yours, I will have clicked it by accident. I believe in comments, that's why I am here.
It's not like I have any faith left in LJ, but I am still holding onto the hope that they'll let us live out our lives here without breaking everything/scaring away every last one of us...
I can see a place like AO3 having a like button for a fic. Getting a kudos is better than nothing at all, which is what most people leave. But on a comment? That makes no sense at all.
AO3 already had long discussions about the kudos button in the beginning, too. The founders came from LJ. But I agree that the kudos button is better than nothing. I still try to leave comments on every fic I really like.
The "funny" thing is that they used one of the daily question posts as an example for the new feature. It's a post with three questions in it that you're supposed to answer. And now you can like it instead! Muahahaha. ;P

I have already left a comment on the lj news post requesting an opt-out.
I mostly made this entry to let my flist know what I think, and let them know that I cannot use the feature myself at all (even if I wanted to) - just so everybody knows.

Me, too.
I couldn't tell if it is active or not, since I never see it. I was going by the comments on the lj news post. *g*
