Elementary 3x03
My poll hasn't gotten much attention (yet) - just comment and let me know which shows you want to discuss with me!
I'll just go right ahead and write up a few thoughts on
* I love how they're treating Kitty. It is typical Elementary that they're introducing a new character that everyone hates at first and then they show everyone making an effort. It's just such a nice way to treat all their main characters. Not only Kitty, who we all have to get used to now, but also Joan and Sherlock.
* Kitty is given lots of good lines - I like that she's already really good at being a detective. It makes her much easier to like.
* I'm not sure what to think about Joan's boyfriend. I like that it's kind of peripheral right now. I never shipped Joan with Sherlock, so I'm not mad at them.
* On the topic of Joan's boyfriend, it bothered me how little reaction Bell showed when he was *right next to* Sherlock while Sherlock was talking about Joan's love life. At least some eye-rolling or a shake of the head - anything. The actor wasn't at his best all this ep. Pity, because I really like Bell.
* "Joan is adequately sexed." *LOL* Oh Sherlock.
* The whole logic behind Paul trying to kill Harlan was ridiculous. "He takes away your source of income, so what do you do?" "You kill him, of course." Whu? Nope? My first thought would have been to just find some other games to rip off, not go on a revenge spree.
* I don't know what to think about Sherlock's attempt at reconciliation with Harlan at the end. He didn't apologize, and I still think there was nothing wrong with trying to keep Harlan at a distance - he does have stalkery aspects. He doesn't have to let him in if he doesn't want to be friends with him. Okay, he didn't offer him friendship, but a professional relationship, but it didn't really sound like that was what Harlan wanted. He seemed to be okay with what he got, though, so. *shrug*
* Overall, the show is just still really fun to watch.
