SPN 9x19
* OMG how much did I hate this episode? It reminded me a lot of season 5 and why I stopped watching SPN then. All gore and splatter and disrespect of life and stupid macho bullshitting.
* OK, there was the story of Mommy and Alex and Jody, and that's a lot more women than they usually have and they were kind of layered and conflicted.
* At least Jody got to take out the bad vamp before Dean/Sam had to come rescue her - that was the only saving grace of this episode. Just too little, too late.
I know they're probably doing it on purpose, to show how much Dean has regressed. The problem is, I didn't want to see him regress at all. I wanted him to move forward, there's still so much way ahead of him even without stupid artificial obstacles. And not even the obstacle plot with Abaddon has moved forward. It feels like a ton of filler.
The worst thing is that both Dean and Castiel have reverted to their previous faults. Castiel being tricked into becoming a leader and repeating his mistakes. Dean destroying the painstakingly built "not all monsters are monsters" attitude from last season. I see the pattern, but I think they didn't need it at all. It just makes me angry. The only one moving forward is Sam, and I don't care about Sam. Admittedly, that's my problem. ;)
Also, the season started out with SO MUCH Destiel. Even when they were apart, we could see how much Dean and Cas were obviously hurting, and there hasn't been any hint of that since 9x10. That makes me sad.
So now what am I left with? A lot of disappointment and not much motivation to watch the rest of the season. What a pity.
