I've participated in one single icon challenge this year (they're not as numerous as they used to be...):

But this one is great fun. You have to make a set of five icons every two weeks, and the themes are always interesting. The quality is nice, I feel challenged every time but feel neither too good nor outclassed. The participation could be higher.... If you feel like joining, do it!
