It started with the desire to have actual shippy Cabin Pressure fic, when I stumbled across the
molly-martin community, and noticed how this pairing makes *so much sense*! They're both hopeless and awkward and bright and have the same lack of self-esteem, and I just can't help *wanting* them to be happy and cheering them on. They'd work so wonderfully as a couple.
Molly/Martin Crieff (Sherlock/Cabin Pressure)
Story:
Luton or the Curious Case of the Not!SherlockAuthor:
r_scribblesRating: NC-17
Length: 9 chapters, 20.000 words maybe?
Warnings: awkward sex :)
Summary: Molly’s been having a bad week, and it just doesn’t help when Sherlock disguises himself as a pilot just to make it worse.
My opinion: The whole thing is one string of endearingly awkward conversations and then good awkward sex. Really refreshing, funny and romantic, with perfect Cabin Pressure banter.
Quote:
"Sherlock (and despite a stupid wig and make up making him look redder of face and hair, it was Sherlock - absolutely had to be) stood up and positioned himself between her and the flight instruments.[...] She knew slapping him hard in the face was a bad idea. It seemed like an even worse idea once she’d done it, leaving him gasping wordlessly like a freshly reeled-in fish. She still couldn’t stop, though.
‘You heartless bastard!’
From his seat, the Co Pilot… the real Pilot, that was, chuckled knowingly. ‘Martin, you dark horse. Never thought you had it in you.’"
And somehow, while I was in a het mood, I went and looked up Sherlock/Molly. Oops? I did find an absolute gem, though. It sounds cracky from the premise, but it's so so worth it.

Story:
SustainAuthor: maybe_amanda and OneMillionAndNine
Rating: NC-17
Length: 100.000+
Warnings: Pregnancy, Sherlock's dysfunctional family, past drug abuse, Moriarty (= kidnapping + torture)
Summary: Molly is finally over Sherlock and planning to move to the country and have a child. Sherlock can't have that.
The author told me: We asked ourselves - Jim doesn't like to get his hands dirty, so why bother with Molly? To screw with Sherlock, of course. So what does Jim know about Sherlock's relationship with Molly that Sherlock doesn't?
My opinion: Do not get scared away by the pregnancy trope (Molly wanting to get pregnant and Sherlock offering himself as a donor). It is so much more than that, and none of the bunnies and rainbows and domesticity I loathe. Only Sherlock can rationalize his way through fathering a child and believe there wouldn't be any consequences. Oh, Sherlock. His attempts at dealing with a relationship (or not) are great fun and expectedly mean. I like the characterization not only of Sherlock, but of everyone around him. Lots of Holmes family members, each of whom sees the characters a little differently and knows different things about the characters.
Hint: a) do not get confused by the wrong ordering of the stories within the series on ao3. Of course, Sustain is part 1, Sustain II part 2 and Sustain III part 3. b) the story is not completely posted at this time, but completely written. There are two chapters unposted, which will go up next monday and wednesday respectively. Ordering is fixed and posting is complete.
Quote:
"When, thanks to the concealed GPS unit in her phone, he found Molly, she was with Mrs. Hudson. At Mothercare. Looking at baby things.
It was like sitting in a bucket of ice water.
He went straight home and changed into his rattiest pajamas and dressing gown.
Two hours later, Molly and Mrs. Hudson came in with their arms full of bags, laughing. Not a thought in the world about Sherlock Holmes. Not, he reminded himself, that it mattered. All the things - sex, food, a willing ear - that Molly provided for him were mere niceties. If she was distracted enough to forget him, far be it from him to remind her. He'd done without those things for years; he could do without them until she remembered that he existed.
He went to get a book to read, and he did not step lightly. He sat in his chair, again, none too lightly.
He took his Strad in hand, but thought better of it. She should have heard him already, not that he cared."
