This year's Vampire Diaries Big Bang (tvd_bigbang) was kind of a last-minute decision after my Merlin Big Bang participation fell through. And boy am I glad I signed up! waltzmatildah was a wonderful author to work with. I don't think I've collaborated this closely with another author I didn't know before. It was tons of fun and I really like the result

Hiking is the devil! Even half-assed hiking with kids. Was it fun, at least?

Yes, great trail, excellent food (fresh fish, which, histamine-wise, is really rare for me). Right until lilboy fell asleep on the way back and cried the whole time from us having to wake him to finally getting him into bed. *ugh*

Bad conscience for overtaxing him (he's got a slight cold) isn't helping right now. ;/

Aw, poor kiddo. Parenting really is a perpetual motion generator for bad conscience, huh? Not enough exercise, your kids are going to turn into unhealthy couch potatoes! Too much exercise, you're pushing a tired cranky kid. :/
