Warning: Vain Whining Ahead!
Over the past year I've developed a mild envy on all these "Snow White" beauty-types. Think of Zooey Deschanel or Lucy Griffiths of the Beeb's Robin Hood--creamy skin, dark hair, drama and contrast. In short, I want to look like that. So, I've spent all summer slathering on sun screen and I stopped high-lighting my hair. I don't really have the right skin tone for it--I've got more yellow that blue undertones--but my hair is naturally dark. Honestly, I probably look more consumptive than mysterious.
Well, over the past month I've added Katy Perry and Katie McGrath to the list of Sun Screen Inspirations. SURPRISE! Both Katy Perry and Katie McGrath are natural blondes! I feel vaguely cheated for no rational reason.
At least there is the avoid-skin-cancer angle. It is nice not being sun-burned all summer. After 3 months of hats, parasols, and SPF 30, it now seems that, if I skip a day, I can feel the ultraviolet protons slamming into my poor DNA.
blah blah blah,
