What's gnu? Or is it "new"...?

So I'm still looking for work. Mumsy's out of l'hopital, so I'm shuttling her to do all sorts of chores & errands as well as her physical training. I've still been training daily. I've dropped the spinning classes now, so I don't need to be at the gym at a certain time anymore. In lieu of this, I've picked up the stride machine and go at about 85% full power on it for 45min, which leaves me a sweaty mess at the end. That goes on 5 days/wk. My training schedule goes:

Mon/Wed/Fri: Stretch(5-10min), Strides(45min @ 85%FP), Crunches(4 sets of 25 @ 10lbs), Pull-Downs(5 sets of 10 @ 60lbs), Flys(5 sets of 10 @ 125lbs), Push-Aways(5 sets of 10 @ 75lbs)
Tues/Thurs: Stretch(5-10min), Strides(45min @ 85%FP), Crunches(4 sets of 25 @ 10lbs), Flys(5 sets of 20 @ 50lbs), Hip Adductions(5 sets of 10 @ 20lbs), Abductions(5 sets of 10 @ 50lbs)

One of the nice things about going to the gym is that I've run into people that I used to know, so I get to see how they've changed in the past 5yrs. Unlike a lot of other people that had come back every year, I spent most of my years in Chicago for the past five years, so most of the people I went to school with, I really hadn't spoken to since just before graduation day. For example, I ran into Elspeth & Lexie a couple days ago as well as Brooke yesterday. I started to talk to them to help myself start up some kind of social network like I did in Chicago, and since I don't really know many people here, start with people I used to know. I tell ya, I miss being out of the house all the time like I used to in Chicago and having people to call & say "let's go somewhere today," or people who'd call me & do the same.

So anyway, since I've had so much free time to myself, I've used my recent discovery to an advantage, by reading all sorts of manga & graphic novels that I've been meaning to read, but haven't, and discovering new stuff I've never heard of. I check out an average of 11 books per week and these are the series I've been able to read:

Amazing Spider-Man vol. 1-7
Astonishing X-Men vol. 1-2
Batman: Hush vol. 1-2
Cromartie High School vol. 1-4
Fruits Basket vol. 1
FullMetal Alchemist vol. 1-5
Gundam Seed vol. 1
Invincible vol. 1-4
Ranma 1/2 vol.1-7
Tsubasa vol. 1-2
xxxHOLIC vol. 1
Ultimate Spider-Man vol. 1-7
Usagi Yojimbo vol. 1-7

What's also new? Well, I FINALLY finished Metal Gear Solid 3. Now I'm going to go back through it & pick up some secret camos. Anything else? Yep - G4 is just a complete disappointment now. There's only maybe about 8-10hrs of game-related stuff. Now don't get me wrong, I'm a Trekker and a HUGE fan of the original Man Show, but that stuff has NO place on G4. Also, Kristen Holt, the new host of Cheat!...seriously - 0 geek cred. First off, I'm not into American Idol, so I didn't realize until I saw her on one of VH1 reality show exposes, but she's a former American Idol contestant. Minus 5 cred pts. Next, she CLEARLY doesn't know geekdom with her blunders & incorrect pronunciations. At least the Asian girl before her SEEMED to know something about gaming. 2 examples:

Crime #1) Naruto: Ultimate Ninja review - She calls Cursed Seal Sasuke(pronounced "SAHS-KAY") "Cursed Seal Sasuke(she said "SAH-SOO-KAY")." If you're not familiar with the Japanese at all, fine, but seriously - how obvious is it that you've never even PLAYED the game when the regular version of Sasuke is a STARTER CHARACTER.

Crime #2) Spider-Man: Unlimited review - Since the movies came out, Spider-Man's blown up even more than before. The comic is everywhere. The cartoon was one of the best cartoons that Fox has ever shown. Even I only read one Spider-Man comic before I saw the cartoon, and I admit, that's mainly how I know the series.Which is why it's COMPLETELY UNFORGIVABLE that she call Spidey's symbiote suit "the black suit." Seriously - FIND OUT ABOUT A SERIES BEFORE YOU TALK ABOUT IT!!! Somebody PLEASE fire her.

X-Play is pretty much the only show on there worth watching.

One of the options I've been considering for moving out is to try the commune route again. The last time I tried to get involved in one, I was booted out for reasons I'm still not really clear on, but I'd like to try a different one since I do really like the idea of them. I'd definitely prefer one where the people would be more straight-up if they had issues with people, though. One of the groups I was looking at recently is a group that promotes open discussion about each other and how they make each other feel and what those people do to make them feel that way, which is what I really need.

Also, when my aunt & cousin were here last week, we found a bunch of old pictures, including some from my 14th birthday party, which I didn't remember that I had at all.

Now...since my comp's connection is back up, I've been making it my duty to try to grab series that I'm interested in. Unfortunately, though, I still haven't seen a good chunk of them. I've only been able to see 1 episode of Jing, Hunter x Hunter, & PPGZ.

Series Received:
- Cromartie High School
- Great Teacher Onizuka (Live Action)
- He is My Master
- Hellsing Ultimate
- Hunter x Hunter
- Jing: King of Bandits
- MagiRanger vs DekaRanger
- Naruto ep#196
- Naruto movie #2
- One Piece
- PowerPuff Girls Z
- Yakitate! Japan!

Today's Fact: Coming later
