1. Can Glitch's brain be put back in?

For my purposes, I say "yes," but it's delicate surgery with a long recovery time. Furthermore, it still leaves him prone to lapses of memory and moodiness. It also leaves him prone to seizures, for which he has to take daily medicine. He takes it pretty much in stride, remarking that if things had not happened exactly as they did, he would not be the fellow he is today, and he rather likes his lot in life.

Since the half a mind in his head was doing the work of a whole one while the other half languished, Glitch is definitely the dominant personality. Prim and regal Ambrose comes to the forefront on occasion, though the two personalities are better integrated than he lets on.

3. How old is Ambrose?

About 40. He remembers his birthday, but usually not which one, and really doesn't care.

4. Is Ambrose related to the royal family in some way?

Not directly. He isn't even from Oz, but the neighboring country of Ev. However, he doesn't think too highly of his birth family, and is utterly devoted to Galinda (the Queen). Galinda considers him family in all ways but blood.

5. Was Ambrose born into high Society? Or did his intelligence get him there?

He's the youngest son in the Dandelion House of Ev, descended from Princess Langwidere on his mother's side. The rest of his family loves having the privilege that comes with noble birth and the fact they've little actual responsibility.

Ambrose was something of a black sheep that his family didn't know what to do with. They sent him to Oz for an education, hoping he'd grow homesick and appreciate the indolent lifestyle. Not a chance, as Ambrose thrived in academia. On the final exam in Alchemy, however, he and another student gave an accurate answer on an exam that contradicted the professor's pet theory. When disputing the grade, the other student recanted his answer to please the professor, but Ambrose stuck to his guns and even demonstrated that he was correct. The professor still marked his answer wrong, so he graduated third in his class.

However, word of this reached the (painted) ears of Oz's elderly Regent Scarecrow. He took Ambrose as an apprentice over the valedictorian and salutatorian, explaining that "Any fool can tell his superiors what they want to hear. The truly intelligent will tell them what they NEED to hear."

6. Ambrose was an Advisor……of what?

In the books, the Scarecrow was Regent of Oz, Ozma's chief Adviser in matters of governance, and heir to the throne should something dire happen to her and Dorothy.

When writing Ambrose, I simply took my queue from the original.

7. What is your personal fanon for him, that is not covered by these questions?

He could not STAND Ahamo, only tolerating him for Galinda's sake. When Ahamo was framed for Princess Dorothy's death and fled, Ambrose was the one who cheerfully expunged his name from history. Galinda did this knowing both Ambrose's acrimony towards her husband and his tendency to be quite through. When reunited with his brain and the royal family, though? He and Ahamo have a new appreciation for one another, and while not the closest of friends, are certainly much warmer towards each other.

Ambrose was also the one who busted Tutor as a spy and had him jailed, explaining how he'd been in the clink for several years before Az took power and why Tutor kept his distance from Glitch.

Bonus Question: Do you ship Cain/Glimbrose, Queen/Ambrose, DG/Glimbrose, Azkadellia/Ambrose(Glitch) or Ambrose/Queen/Ahamo? Why? And are you open to the other ships?

I really ship him with no one. Cain comes off in my head as painfully straight, and confused as hell by some inconvenient feelings for the much younger princess. As for DG? Well, he was likely right outside the bedchamber, pacing and fretting for Galinda the day DG was born. He's more like her uncle or godfather. Ditto with Az, though he was likely not as close to the older princess.

I suppose I could go with Ambrose/Galinda, but I keep seeing their bond more as a very passionate romantic friendship. Perhaps it's also a side effect of the slash I read, but I guess I also see Glitch/Ambrose as having a preference for men.

Bi, preference for men. Taking my queue from Maguire here, it seems sexual orientation is not a terribly big deal in Oz.
