Silly Hats!

Knew we were forgetting something...

OH. In case you missed it, I HAVE abdicated silly hat duties. Except for today. Mostly because I can't think of interesting topics that haven't been done to death anymore.

*pause* Is it time for a new shipping poll? "No." Oh thank God.

Finally! I make a silly hat day during the day!

Here's a question, although whether it's a topic is something else: Is Cain really claustrophobic, post tin suit, or is that fannish plotting?

I vote fannish.

I also vote fannish but with reasonable psychology backing it up. *nods*

I would assume that post-suit, he'd gotten used to small, dark spaces, and can handle them pretty well.

He probably has a happy place...

I have him claustrophobic because of the restriction caused by the suit. But it would have to be an extreme case for him to have a panic attack in my 'verse.

Glitch did mention Cain being afraid of the dark, but we never actually saw him show any fear of the dark.

I'm sure he would have some mental reaction to situations that may remind him of the suit. So, I don't think it's anything fannish, just something that he would suffer like PTSD.

Glitch did mention Cain being afraid of the dark

Did he now? *wonders how/if that can be worked into current stories*

Yeah, it's on the DVD. He says it after they left Milltown.

Glitch's comment sounded more like he suspected that Cain was afraid of the dark because of being locked in the suit for as long as he was.

My thinking is that Cain just doesn't walk away from that kind of torture without having some sort of psychological problem/s. I was in Hurricane Andrew and even that has left me with a phobia: I start to panic during a storm if there are strong winds. So, it seems logical to me that Cain would suffer from some sort of phobia.

But, that's me. That's why I don't see it as fannish, but as canon that was left on the cutting room floor.

I'd say fannish as well. It's a reasonable trait given his imprisonment, but I don't recall the show playing it up all that much (though I admit it has been rather a while since I've seen it, so I may be wrong).

I'd have to say fannish but completely plausible. We didn't really see any examples of this in the show but then again we never saw Cain in any closed in spaces either.
