OK, I have a question really silly thing that annoys me.
DG.
Shortened to ... Deeg.
I'll be honest, this bugs me. And it's everywhere. Still bugs me. And I'll explain why.
In real life, my name is shortened in a way that's extremely similar to DG's. Our catalectic monikers both end in a soft "G". And my family never, ever ends it with just the G. Because that's DEEG. As in, er, BIG. I always have an "E" on the end of my "G". DEEGE. As in "pledege".
Do any words in the English language end in a "G" where it's used as a "J" without an "E"?
