A/N: I wrote this because I'm cold, but not as cold as you northerners. And there's always room for more of the 'saved from hypothermia' cliché.
Challenge 27: Transportation
Glitch threw more wood into the fire, trying to warm DeMilo’s wagon. Even though Cain had woken and seemed like he was on the road to recovery, he still shivered uncontrollably in his sleep. Perhaps he was dreaming about fighting to get out of the lake or slowly making his away across the snow trying desperately to get inside the Northern Palace. Glitch didn’t know for sure. However, no amount of warm blankets seemed to help Cain.
Glitch sighed, pulled his tattered coat off, and then slipped under the blankets next to Cain. He scooted his body next to him and draped his arm across Cain’s chest, watching his chest rise and fall. Glitch smiled at the little horse still trapped within Cain’s grasp. He reached out and placed his hand on top of Cain’s hand, as if helping him hold onto the hope of finding his family.
Satisfied that Cain was still breathing, Glitch drifted off to sleep.
