Title: "Playing Dirty"

“Someone's going to catch us,” DG whispered. The hallway was empty, but with all the people about it couldn't stay that way forever.

“You're the one that said she was dyin' of boredom,” Cain said, as he backed her further into the shadows. A few precious minutes wouldn't hurt anything; they'd hardly be missed.

“Maybe I didn't give the string quartet enough of a chance,” she sighed as his lips pressed to her cheek.

“You don't dance,” he pointed out, catching her earlobe between his teeth.

“Glitch's lecture on intermolecular forces could've been interesting.”

Cain snorted as his hand ran up her side. “You were yawnin' before he started.”

She made a wordless exclamation of protest. He was almost smiling when he kissed her. “You sayin' that a lecture from the headcase is more interestin' than me?”

DG narrowed her gaze at him; that was playing dirty.

Cain continued. “I understand,” he said, hiding half a smile in her hair. “Reproduction of molecular interactions can be prett-”

DG shoved up on her tiptoes to press her lips hard against his. He chuckled against her mouth for a moment before kissing her back.

Author's Note: In my mind, this fits somewhere in between 'Of Light' and 'Until the Fall' ... one of the few stolen moments.
